I agree with just about all of your point, Wesley, except for the character names. I think they really want to make people know that this is not high-art. What is interesting is that they did the same thing for the new "Project Greenlight" film, "Feast." One look at the imdb listing for the film shows that the main character is actually named, "Hero." But, back to "Doom," I do find it interesting that the writer of the film, Dave Callaham, is only 28 and that this is his first feature film to be produced. Rarely do you see a relatively young writer have his first assignment be a big budget, sci-fi action film. To that end, I wish him luck and hope that the movie does turn out well in the end.
Yeah, I mean names aren't really a high priority when I watch something (And I guess since you called a character The Willie) you probably wouldn't care as well about character names. I just thought I'd bring it up though but one look at the IMDB listing some of those characters actually have real names.
I will see this film first day it's out unless I can't get a ride but oherwise they better not make me regret paying 15 bucks for a ticket and even more for food.
I don't go to many theatre releases, last film was Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith and I've only went 4 times before that going back about 8 years ha-ha Star Wars, The Village, I, Robot and the final Lord of the Rings but now since I'm making bacon without a pig named Macon I'll go out more often.
Fingers crossed Doom looks as if they took an authentic feel and didn't beef it up as they did with other films like Street Fighter and Resident Evil to a point where they could change the name and be original but instead went for using the name and ruining the money because of fan backlash.
Sadly I've spent the last day watching season two and that rhyme just fit with what I was saying, South Park is the source of life for the industry. Just give Trey and Matt some money, they'll make a good film and not even pay voice actors because they are men of a million voices.
Comes out today, I plan on seeing it after school. I played Doom 3 last night and got really excited about this movie, but then I remembered Scorpion King.
