I recall a poll on IMDb not long ago asking which of the following sequels (and they had a list of upcoming sequels) was the most unnecessary, Big Momma's House "won" by a significant margin.

No offense to you Dick for posting it, but I would file this under the "who the f**k cares" department. With the possible exception of the TV show "Martin", Martin Lawrence has done nothing  funny.

(Phil shakes his head in disbelief).

I can make a movie of me taking a dump and it would be more interesting than this, or anything else that Martin Lawrence could do.

And I'm not kidding.  I'm completely serious here.

There's no point for this sequel.  Malcolm dressed up like a fat grandma, did the case, got the girl, the end.   I saw the trailer, the film looks like garbage.  I don't know if it's just me, but Martin's makeup looks shoddy, plus it's being released in January, and they couldn't come up with a better title than "Big Momma's House 2."

I was a big fan of the first one, but this, like many other sequels/adaptations/remakes these days will taint the original.

As if this really needs to be said: It's all about money. As long as crappy movies continue to make money, they will keep on crapping.

It's easy to blame Hollywood for making crap, but the public must share some of the blame. Sometimes bad movies make tons of cash, and good movies barely turn a profit. What is Hollywood supposed to think? They think: These gullible people have really low standards, they'll eat up any turd we throw together. Okay, they don't all think that way, but many do. And they're right a lot of the time, unfortunately.

It could be decent but another problem that Hollywood is facing is bad marketing.  This film could be good but the trailer makes it look like crap!  7 years ago Hollywood could slip a piece of crap film by us with a great marketing campaign, but now they're producing $130 million bombs like "Stealth" which is a piece of crap film with a piece of crap trailer so that leads to pure crap at the box office.

It'll probably all come tumbling down, just like health insurance.

Garfield could've been really good. It really could've had they went a different route with it. I would've used the darker tones of the comicstrips and ran away with it, if it were me writing the thing. Like maybe form a movie around the one cartoon/strip where he gets lost in the sewers and he has to fight that gang of mice.

I always liked that one... "this is all from childhood memories, mind you" "No.. really... it is." "LOL"

I took my nephew to see it when it came out and my god... it was a joke. Hell, he didn't even look like Garfield.

Playing a C.G.I. cat off a real dog was a really bad mistake.

Anyways, back on topic... I never seen the 1st BIG MAMA's HOUSE and I'll never see the second one. I think the idea is just shit... if not a blatant rip off of MRS Doubtfire.

People get mad at my negativity and listen to you guys ha-ha

Seriously though Martin Lawrence is a real boy? I always thought that Will Smith was just a really good ventriloquist. Frankly I'm shocked.

I couldn't lower myself to watching the original... what does this one offer that would make me lower my standards even further? A good film? Tons and tons of nudity, like a porno? Uhh some actual comedy? Maybe a plot?

I hope I get at least one but I'll probably leave this film to mindless teenagers who will think it's the best film ever made, like totally and stuff.

I bet Balt will like this film, he likes every film...
