I'll close my eyes, throw a dart at the board and say Pirates, based soley on marketability towards children, and let's face it, kiddies bring in the "buck, buck, bucks."

I can't believe Phillip Seymore Hoffman is in MI-3, he'll keep that movie from sucking any nuts (maybe).

I definitely think Pirates will bring it all home. Everyone's excited about that. Superman and X-Men are at a tie for second, I think.

I can't wait to see Miami Vice. I'll watch anything directed by Michael Mann. But I think The Da Vinci Code will probably make the most cash.

X-Men and the DaVinci Code will be the two highest followed by superman and then Pirates probably for some reason.

I voted for Superman because it's Superman, just the nbame alone will bring a lot of people whether they be Smallville fans or Chris Reeve fans they'll come.

I hate Superman and his fruity booties but even I feel compelled to go see this film.

Let's see...6 sequels, 3 remakes, an adaptation and something called Nacho Libre. I think I'll vote for Nacho Libre just because I haven't ever heard of it. New stuff deserves all the love it can get. It does have Jack Black and music by Danny Elfman.

Nacho Libre is a new Jack Black film.

"Fast and Furious" will suck donkey nuts and make about $17.50 when all is said and done.  And then they'll make another one.

Too true but, of course, we already knew that (I hope).

Anyway, Superman and Pirates will dominate the box office. Clerks II, Fast And The Furious, and The Omen will flop. Everything else will do decent.

Nope. It only took in $40 million on its opening weekend, which is a lot lower than the last two. Mission Impossible 2 got 57 million I do believe. So it isn't gonna do to well. At least, not compared to the last ones. It'll do better than most films in theaters right now, but once X-men comes out, it'll cream M:I 3. And once Pirates and Superman comes out, nothing will top them for the rest of the summer or fall. Only in December when "Eragon" comes out will they be beatin'.

The one movie that I hope (though I know it won't) flops this year is "The Da Vinci Code."

The Da Vinci Code has the religious community falling over themselves due to the implications of it. One of the most ohrrifying in the spiritual sect is the suggestion that Jesus married Mary Magdalene and they had a child. This is a piece of information that is contrary to Christian tradition, but finds neither confirmation nor contradiction in the Bible. That's the biggest reason, I imagine.

Personally, a movie is a movie, and whatever they preach in the movie is their business. It won't change me or what I believe. Just because I watched A Nightmare on Elm Street, I didn't start believing Freddy could kill me in my sleep.

Oh, and I still hold on to Nacho Libre...we latch onto original material around here as sacred and yet, we don't support it when it comes out. What's up with that?

I did see Nacho Libre today and I had decided to pay extra attention to the screenplay and post something about that in the Nacho Libre thread. I have never focused on the script before while watching a movie for the first time. You know, that was hard, and I couldn't do it so I refrained from saying anything about it. I don't know enough about movie making to be able to decide if this or that worked or did not, due to the script, acting, directing or whatever. All I can say for sure was that it was occasionally very funny and an amusing, cute story. I think one reason it worked fairly well though was due to the acting of Jack Black and Héctor Jiménez.

I'm sorry, but I do not think this one will be one of the top contenders for the Box-Office winners. I've seen most of the ones listed by Nixon and to me MI:3 and Da Vinci have been the best ones so far.

PS. None of them has been as good as Insider Man though.
