Figured I'd take a break from trashing movies that haven't come out yet and talk about movies I actually want to see this year...

Funny Games - Probably my #1 must-see this year. I knew the director of the original was directing the remake but after checking on IMDB, I found out it's a shot-by-shot, scene-by-scene, line-by-line remake. Considering how unbelievably awesome the original was, I don't see how this one could fail. It might actually be better than the original with the additions of Tim Roth and Michael Pitt. This one is going to warp the minds of mainstream audiences, hahaha!

The Dark Knight - I think everyone wants to see this one. Batman Begins was ace and I think this will be even better. Katie Holmes was the only weak link in the first one but now that they've replaced her with someone who can actually act (Maggie Gyllenhall), this next installment doesn't have any. Plus Ledger looks sick as The Joker. It's too bad he can't be around to see this role put him on the map for good.

Choke - An adaptation of a book by the writer of Fight Club. I read part of it when I was in middle school and it went over my head but it was definitely twisted and I think the movie's going to be just as crazy. Plus Sam Rockwell as the lead should be cool.

Good idea James, think I will join you...

Dark Knight - Who isn't looking forward to this? Ledger looks awesome in the trailers and sure to be the must see movie of the summer. Nolan could film a wall being painted and it would still be one of the best movies of the year!

Milk Never been much of a Gus Van Sant fan, I know lots rate him and I always thought he may have a brilliant movie in him but was never sure if he would. By all accounts this could be it, great cast and a great story - If he pulls it off this could be the first contender for this years Oscar film and maybe an Oscar for Sean Penn.

Burn After Reading The Coen Brothers back on the top of their game, George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Tilda Swinton, John Malkovich and Francis McDormand. How on earth could this be anything else but a brilliant movie? Fingers crossed anyway. Really looking forward to this one.

I'm definately looking forward to this one.  Chuck Palahniuk is the author of 'Fight Club' and 'Choke'.  He also wrote a novel 'Haunted', which contains a short story called 'Guts' that Palahniuk reads outloud to crowds sometimes.  To date, 73 people have fainted during the reading of 'Guts'.

I can't wait for 'Burn After Reading', either.  I had no idea it was going to have that cast in it.

Guts was sick... I loved it. Palahniuk's definitely a unique writer. I gotta check out more of his stuff.
