Here's my top five list for most anticipated movies of 2008.

5- 10,000 B.C.- This looks like a very promising epic.
4- Vantage Point- Never before has a trailer won me over. This'll be good.
3- Cloverfeild- After all the hype, it better be good.
2- Resident Evil: Degeneration- Finally, a movie that'll be true to the games!
1- The Dark Knight- Why? Because it looks amazing!!!

In no particular order:

- Dark Knight
-Indy 4
- X-Files 2
- Righteous Kill
- Avatar (oh wait, that's not until '09)

I while I don't look forward to it, I'd imagine I will probably see John Rambo...

Looking forward to Cloverfield and the Dark Knight.

Also looking forward to There Will Be Blood. It isn't playing here just yet, so I'll include that as 2008.

- The Poughkeepsie tapes: when I saw the trailer for this, I actually got creeped out, and it takes a lot to creep me out.

- One Missed Call: yeah it's probably going to end up being terrible because all Japanese remakes do, but I really like the idea, even if it is a remake. I want to get the ring tone they use for it also.

- Untraceable: Looks a lot like Saw but I actually think it looks pretty interesting. I might actually see it.

So far that's it, really. I also want to see the remake of Day of the Dead even though that may be a crapfest as well, but, hey, I like zombies, okay??

But I really, really want to see The Poughkeepsie Tapes. Who cares if it's like that "Reptar-like" (Rugrats, anyone?? ) thing, Cloverfield...At least TPT makes it look like it was shot with video camera...in my opinion. Thought, as crazy as this sounds, I might see Cloverfield also. Oh well...

There Will Be Blood (technically a 2007 movie, but we don't get it down here until February).

The Dark Knight

Indy 4

Cloverfield (we get it a day earlier here)

Forgetting Sarah Marshall

Off the top of my head there's:

Cloverfield
There Will Be Blood(hurry up and get to my theatre already!)
Indy 4
Dark Knight
Forgetting Sarah Marshall

And I can't believe it hasn't been mentioned yet...

The Pineapple Express!

There's probably some more that I've forgot are coming out this year.

Please, read Elvis The Goat or Cold Turkey.  Thanks in advance and I'll make sure to review your script in exchange.

I'm still looking forward to Sin City II and Hulk 2 if they're scheduled for 08 still. Batman is always a plus because I love those hero films.

Cloverfield's preview was enough to build some interest but after a few viewings it started feeling like a commercial for Energizer... Not sure why but it did.

Are they really making another RE film? Does anyone want to see Milla naked anymore? A smut film with zombies and guns. Sounds more like something Tarantino would do.

Degeneration is a CG-animation Resident Evil movie. It has an entirely different storyline from the live action trilogy. Milla Jovovich is not involved.

Being serious for a minute, Now that the Coen Brothers look to be back to their best after the amazing 'No Country For Old Men' the movie to watch for this year is sure to be Burn After Reading - Has all the ingredients for a great movie.

Yeah, I saw the trailer after the fact. Looks decent. It's the Spirits Within type CG instead of the more cartooney approach.

The movie will be closer to the video game series than the live action trilogy was, which is great news if you're a RE fan.

My top 10:

10. In the Name of the King
I know, I know...by no film standards will this be any good, but I'm a fantasy nerd and will probably like it along with Dragonslayer, Dragonheart, Eragon, etc.

9.WallE
This looks interesting, and while I'm not as captured by animated films as I once was, I'm still looking forward to this very much.

8. Inkheart
Read part of the book but somehow stopped and never returned to it, but the trailer for this looks good and I can't wait to see it. Again, anything fantasy is gonna be on my anticipation list. haha.

7. Iron Man
Trailer looks badtale. Never read the comics, but it looks great.

6. The Spiderwick Chronicles
Read the books and liked them, the trailer looks pretty good and I can't wait to see it. Again, a fantasy film. It'll likely be along the lines of Bridge to Terabithia in terms of box office and critical success though.

5. 10,000 BC
It's directed by that german guy who directed The Day After Tomorrow and the horrible Independence Day, but who cares? The trailer looks fun.

4. Cloverfield
This looks absoloutly badanus. I'm hoping this will be the monster movie that will be remembered from my childhood.

3. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
David Yates did and amazing job on the fifth film, which is my favorite HP film to date. I'm hoping this one will pass it, as this was my favorite book of the series.

2. The Dark Knight
This and The Chronicles of Narnia are really a tie, but since I'm a fantasy nerd, that's what bumped this to number two. However, Ledger as the joker looks amazing and I can't wait to see this film. Totally awesome looking.

1. The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian
Looks awesome and much better than the original, and I'll be there for midnight showings.

Figured I'd take a break from trashing movies that haven't come out yet and talk about movies I actually want to see this year...

Funny Games - Probably my #1 must-see this year. I knew the director of the original was directing the remake but after checking on IMDB, I found out it's a shot-by-shot, scene-by-scene, line-by-line remake. Considering how unbelievably awesome the original was, I don't see how this one could fail. It might actually be better than the original with the additions of Tim Roth and Michael Pitt. This one is going to warp the minds of mainstream audiences, hahaha!

The Dark Knight - I think everyone wants to see this one. Batman Begins was ace and I think this will be even better. Katie Holmes was the only weak link in the first one but now that they've replaced her with someone who can actually act (Maggie Gyllenhall), this next installment doesn't have any. Plus Ledger looks sick as The Joker. It's too bad he can't be around to see this role put him on the map for good.

Choke - An adaptation of a book by the writer of Fight Club. I read part of it when I was in middle school and it went over my head but it was definitely twisted and I think the movie's going to be just as crazy. Plus Sam Rockwell as the lead should be cool.

Good idea James, think I will join you...

Dark Knight - Who isn't looking forward to this? Ledger looks awesome in the trailers and sure to be the must see movie of the summer. Nolan could film a wall being painted and it would still be one of the best movies of the year!

Milk Never been much of a Gus Van Sant fan, I know lots rate him and I always thought he may have a brilliant movie in him but was never sure if he would. By all accounts this could be it, great cast and a great story - If he pulls it off this could be the first contender for this years Oscar film and maybe an Oscar for Sean Penn.

Burn After Reading The Coen Brothers back on the top of their game, George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Tilda Swinton, John Malkovich and Francis McDormand. How on earth could this be anything else but a brilliant movie? Fingers crossed anyway. Really looking forward to this one.

I'm definately looking forward to this one.  Chuck Palahniuk is the author of 'Fight Club' and 'Choke'.  He also wrote a novel 'Haunted', which contains a short story called 'Guts' that Palahniuk reads outloud to crowds sometimes.  To date, 73 people have fainted during the reading of 'Guts'.

I can't wait for 'Burn After Reading', either.  I had no idea it was going to have that cast in it.

Guts was sick... I loved it. Palahniuk's definitely a unique writer. I gotta check out more of his stuff.
