So I've heard that "A Good Day to Die Hard" is in the works. Anyone as excited as I am? I love me some Die Hard.

Not in the least. I keep my expectations in the basement where they belong for many reasons. Chief among them? Two words: Skip Woods.

Aw crap, the guy who wrote Hitman! I didn't know that! Thanks for the heads up though, now I know there's a good possibility that I could be disappointed.

Sorry to unleash that knowledge on you... I find it interesting (yet not surprising) that every movie he's written has been worse than the one before it. Good times.

The Hitman dude writing the script and they're recycling the McClane kid thing.
Not to mention the director of Max Payne at the controls.
McClane has to save his son from some Russian mobsters you say?
No terrorists or plot to steal the world's supply of platinum or something?
All this in a PG-13 wrapper? Eh.

But hey, it can't be all bad. They took 78 days to film a car chase...

How hard can it be to get a couple cars across Moscow? :\

Oh, and that February release date screams downsizing for the series IMO.

Downsizing for sure which surprises me...it's title should still carry enough weight to bring in the crowds.

John McClane might be in a wheelchair but I'd still go and see him kick some ass. Yippee-ki-yay.

Hmm... That freeze frame makes it look like a bromance flick.

Yuck.  I keep trying to convince myself that Die Hard had no sequels, kinda the same way I insist that Indiana Jones is still a trilogy.

still, you have to hand it Bruce Willis...  has there ever been a more bullet-proof actor in hollywood? it doesnt matter how many stinkers he makes or how many movies he releases at a time - the guy's been around 25 years and has never had a problem finding highpaying/high profile work.

as primarily an action star.. thats no small feet.

I've actually enjoyed all 4 Die Hard movies, believe it or not.
Of course, the original is the best, but that are all unique in their own ways.

I look forward to this one.

Die Hard is still, in my mind, the best action movie of all time (barely leading Terminator 2: Judgment Day).

Die Hard 2: Die Harder is a perfect (and, because of this perfection, imperfect) sequel in that it's exactly the same thing but done bigger and of a lesser quality.

Die Hard With a Vengeance stands with me as my favorite of the trilogy while not the best.

Live Free or Die Hard is fine when you don't look at it as a Die Hard. When you imagine it is just another Bruce Willis-plays-a-cop movie, you'll enjoy it more than if you compare it to the other three, which it is nothing like.

A Good Day to Die Hard just looks bad. And, I saw no Patrick Stewart in that trailer and I'm pissed off about it.

P.S. Fuck Skip Woods.

Excited? Yeah, as long as Len Wiseman's not directing.

Mr. Blonde,
you nailed my exact thought on the Die Hard movies.
Even that 3 is my favorite, but not the best.
Kudos.
