Here’s the trailer for the remake of the classic Evil Dead. Not sure really, remakes normally suck but the trailer looked okay. Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell are on as producers.
Saw this yesterday and to be honest I thought it looked great. I so hope this is good as I love the original. It seems parts 1 and 2 have been somewhat merged into this one and the humour appears to have gone out the window but it does look brutal and promising.
Check out my scripts...if you want to, no pressure.
Looks like it's a lot darker and more graphic than the original, but with a lot of throwbacks. Just in the trailer, I saw the return of the Angry Rape Tree, one confirmed and one implied arm amputation, the blood hitting the lantern... it's all good.
Color grading is a little too green for my taste (the original was so colorful), and the tone seems different. Still, I'll be happy to watch it, mostly because of that tongue splitting thing at the end.
Just disappointed that Raimi isn't directing. I also wish Campbell had a cameo but I read somewhere that he turned it down.
Considering all the 'outrage' amongst online horror nerds about a certain writer being brought in to polish the script, it looks like they might not have that much to moan about, considering the lack of teen-sarcy hipster dialogue in the trailer.
I'll give it a whirl, I can't say I'm looking forward to the musical beats if it's going to be that industrial noise all the way through, but hey...it looks okay. I like the fact there playing it straight, I love the 2nd and 3rd movies but the comedy works because of Bruce, trying to replicate that would be a no-no for me.
This is a great teaser trailer with an energetic pace and crazy imagery. I love Jane Levy and it’s great to see her in a horror role. Looks like one of the better remakes but I hate to say it - I think all of the best scenes were shown in the trailer.
Hey Oney.Mendoza, I'm never one to ask for scripts but if you could send me this one I'd be ever so grateful, I've been looking for it everywhere!!! kevrevie@gmail.com
I'm super excited about this movie, this new trailer has me convinced that Jane Levy is a worthy scream queen. I'm hoping Bruce will pop in for some sort of cameo.
(Welcome back, btw. Have been a bit busy myself lately -- not around much -- but things should be settling down soon.)
Hey Bert! Been a while.. lol been like years! I've been meaning to give The Farm another read, I remember liking that quite a bit. Nice to see you're still around

Where do you get all these?
I was actually searching for this one and came across some random Final Fantasy blog (lol) and this guy had this script and TCM 3D. He had his email listed so I asked if he would send them and I was actually surprised he did.

I've only seen her on Suburgatory and while that show is a hit and miss for me she always shines and has great chemistry with the other cast members. She's a beauty with a great charm and that's rare for someone her age. She's pretty unrecognizable in the trailer for E.D.
Well i just finished the script and I was VERY impressed. This is pretty hardcore horror and I think people are going to love it. Can't wait to see this opening night.

That's awesome to hear. This is hands down my most anticipated horror film of 2013. I love the original but I'm always open to the idea of remakes - not a hater like most people.
I can't live the buttoned-down life like you. I want it all. The dizzying highs, the terrifying lows, the creamy middles. Sure, I may offend some of the blue bloods with my cocky stride and musky odors. Oh, I'll never be the darling of the so-called "city fathers," who cluck their tongues, stroke their beards and talk about what's to be done with this Homer Simpson?
The whole cabin thing reminds me a lot of "The Cabin in the Woods". Actually, I can't take credit for this since my girlfriend saw the Evil Dead preview first and then made the comment to me about The Cabin in the Woods.
The movie looks pretty good from the previews. I just hope it doesn't turn out to be one of these sterotypical horror movies that scares you primarily by startling the heck out of you with a sudden noise or someone jumping out from behind something. I also don't like it when horror movies are primarily set at night or in the dark, because it makes it difficult to see a lot of the action that is going on.
I have always wanted a GOOD horror movie that takes place in the bright day-light, where you can see the bad guy/girl/demon/creature coming slowly towards their victims and it still scares the hell out of the audience!

It should be the other way around. Cabin in the Woods should remind you of Evil Dead.
Let’s not forget, Evil Dead did the cabin thing in 1981. . . Thirty years before Cabin in the Woods was even written.
This version of Evil Dead is a re-make, or a reboot. Probably will end up being one hell of a ride, too.
You're right...I haven't seen the original Evil Dead in so long that I totally forgot about it.
My girlfriend actually use to think that everything Family Guy did was orginal. It blew her mind when I watched Ferris Bueller's Day Off with her....she thought the scene where Ferris was rushing home and cutting through back yards was something that the writers of Family Guy came up with and she was mad when she realized that they stole that idea from Ferris Bueller. LOL
In the end though...everything is kind of a rip off of something else.

I myself am a die-hard Carrie fan, so I am looking forward to Carrie more than this remake.
That said, I did read the script quite a while ago and wish I had have posted in here sooner so I could have been the cool, popstar user to send out the script, lol.
But yes, the script is awesome and I am looking forward to this too. Though I think Carrie might win.
