A week for each script would turn this challenge into a marathon. I don't have a problem writing scripts in 48 hours, it's the reading afterwards that is the biggest time commitment. Then there's the collection and collation of votes.

Perhaps, just in case it wasn't clear, I should clarify. The length of the contest would remain unchanged. Week 1 would be writing a script. Week 2 would be writing week 2's script and reviewing week 1's scripts. 3, 4 and 5 follow the same pattern as week 2. As I had stated, it would be the equivalent of 5 concurrent OWCs, not 5 consecutive OWCs. Just making sure the information is clear.
72 hours is seeming like by far the best fit. I'm ok either way, but 72 lets those with busy weekends finish things on Mon. I have a 48 hr prose thing coming up, if it ran into the same weekend it would be nice to have Mon.
I concur that 72 hours fixes most of the fairness issues while keeping the pace quick.
Still going to be tough for me in week 1, but still going to try. I missed the last couple OWCs and want to get back into building up a stable of short scripts.
I think 72 hours would definitely be a good compromise, it sorts out the time zone issues but is still short enough to be a challenge. I think a week for 5 pages is too much.
