I need a referral for a good script doctor that specializes in consultation of action/adventure scripts.

Does anybody know of a common sense person who fits this bill?

I used Ken Mora for both The Burnout and A Druid's Guide to the Northeast and I am very happy with the results.  His critiques can be found on my scripts' thread.  And he's not expensive for what you get.

You can reach him at http://www.kenmora.com/

GuruRod - you said you 'need' a script doctor. Just making sure that you have not been asked by an 'agency' for a critique of your script and this is of your own doing?

There are a few scam agencies out there that will offer their own script doctors, but say you can go with one yourself (Script Agency). Just making sure.

I've had two conflicting evaluations done by a "respected" script analyst on different drafts of my screenplay.

It's a long story. I'm basically looking for someone who means what they say.
Someone who sticks by their "expert" evaluation.

Good point, MacDuff!  I got involved with this agency, though I never sent them any money.

A lengthy discussion about these guys can be found here.

Guru, visit my above-listed script thread and look up Ken critiquing.  I think the notes he sent me were about 20 pages long for each script.

Guru, is your script posted on here? If so, you can get a variety of opinions from the people on these boards if a) you're interested in improving and b) you either read other scripts or respond to some of those wanting to trade reads. You can get some worthwhile opinions, and while it won't be 20 pages in most cases, you can work to improve some of the bigger problems before sending it to a doctor for the nit-picky stuff.

As a case in point, Phil's The Burnout was a pretty solid script before he ever sent it to this guy.

George is right, Guru,  The Burnout was a pretty solid script--

--whoops!

You should post your script here before sending it to a script doctor.  We'll pick it apart for free so you can send a later version of your script to the doctor.  You'd be surprised how many 'obvious' problems we can find that would just be a waste of time for the doctor to point out to you.

Oh, and read other people's scripts. too.
