I'm going to ignore my mostly negative comments about my script 'Expired Food', (which I have now done a lot more to), and I'm going to try and get it published. Everyone my dad and I showed it to loved it, and I think it's good as well. Does anyone know of any book publishers, who would be willing to take a look at my script? (I live close to London).

You could self-publish.

As for publishers, the internet is your friend. Search away and see which ones happily receive unsolicited submissions and find out what is required via a query letter.

Or, others might have a better idea. I gather from 'publisher' you mean novel?

Ok, thanks, I'll have a look on the internet. I think my project is going to be a novel. I'm not sure how long novels have to be, but I'm probably around half way through at the moment, and have written just over 10,000 words...

Novels are 80-100k.

Ah. Is that a problem? What is it called when a book is less than that? Is just simply called a book?

It's called a novella! 17k-40k, or something like that.

It is a bit of a problem.

I've just finished first draft of a children's novel, mid grade and that is 35k.

For adults though, there isn't much call for novellas. Simply expand your idea into 80k.

Ok. Do you know if publishers would be interested in reading drafts? Say, around 10,000 words?
Then maybe if they like it, I could write more?

Not likely... not as a newbie without any contacts.

They will read entire manuscripts though.
