For the traps people should consider what effect they want to have. There should be at least three types of effects the traps have.
1: A trap that takes a character by surprise, i.e the wire mesh in the beginning of Cube
2: One that has the audience in anticipation, i.e the "stalking trap" in Hypercube or the sound activated spike trap in Cube.
3: And finally one that leaves the audience in awe. |

Alright, here's what i could come up with:
1. The suprise trap:
INT. YELLOW CUBE
A victim walks into a yellowish cube, he walks to the center and observes his surroundings. WHOOOSH- His eyes suddenly widen. He stands extremely still. Frozen in place.
The camera turns to reveal, he's infact turned TWO DIMENSIONAL. Paperflat. The flat posture wobbles and gently slides to the floor.
2. The anticipation Trap
Not yet a full solid idea in my mind. We could do something with a color-changing cube, when it's green it's okay to move, when it's red, you better freeze...or else. The anticipation would be of course, the cube changing red when they are in the middle of the room, and some guy is allergic or something, or spastic, or ADHD whatever.
3. The Awe Trap. Divided in two scenes
1) INT. BLUE CUBE
Multiple victims walk around the cube, one opens an exit
VICTIM 1 Come on let's go!
Victim 2 spots something
VICTIM 2 HOld up! What's this?
He walks towards a tiny little skeleton underneath one of the side-entrances. It's the size of a mouse. Tiny pieces of clothes cover it.
VICTIM 3 Seems like they set loose mice in here aswell.
VICTIM 1 Cruel bastards
Victim 2 grabs the tiny little skeleton with wide eyes, shocked
VICTIM 2 First mouse ever to wear clothes. This looks human.
In his hand he holds the remains of a miniature human, size of a thumb. Mini-clothes and all. The group's baffled.
2) Scene 2- later in the movie INT. BLUE CUBE The remaining victims open another doorway. This one is different, it seems incredibly long and getting bigger futher in. VICTIM 1 I think we just found the exit!
Anxiously the group climbs in and starts running, the corridor getting bigger and bigger, bright light at the end. VICTIM 1 Come on!
The corridor is now gigantic, the ceiling incredibly high, the walls so far out. It's really huge. Victim 1 runs and then comes to a halt. The corridor ends in a ravine. Victim 1 gets a stumped look on his face VICTIM 2 What's wrong?
Victim 1 doesn't respond. Victim 2 stands next to him and looks into the ravine. Suddenly we see that it's just another cube, only thousands of times larger. They are the size of MICE compared to it. ----
I think those would be very cool. |

For having the Cube change colours that go with the keypads (which are coded in musical notation) on the doors. |

They're pretty cool except for the second one. The 2D idea would just look cheap, sorry. |

Me too.
Okay, so scratch the 2D one. We'll think of something else. It was just brainstorming afterall.
Characters- - Musical Genius Prodigy, bit spastic - A Mime (not in his outfit per se, let's just say his job is being a mime) - A Ranger (knowing how to survive in the wild) - A Jazz-artist, former big one, now slumped to unknown
How's that? |

It would be cool if one of them meets their double and they team up with them. Although often thinking the same, they have different experiences in the Cube (one has been there longer), I think that would be a cool new idea. |

Or what about an incinerator? - It'd make a cool CGI effect - A solid red paper thin wall that passes through its victims, incinerating them into skeletons.
For deciding on the traps:
howabout everybody who's interested in helping write this should post seven traps that they'd like to see in the Cube.
Then we could use the winning traps will be used in the script. |

Here's my Seven traps:
An Incinerator - A large moving infra red wall of concentrated heat -
A Sonic Pressure Chamber - Suspends someone in mid air before imploding them -
A Room of Rotating Blades - An inner wall with thousands of them attached could close upon the victim -
A Wire Mesh Floor - Someone stands on it, and raises into the ceiling, thus slicing them apart
A Magnetic Wall - It either holds up the victim or smashes him between two metal walls -
A False Escape Passage - It go to some random part of the Cube and be a continual hallway
An Acid Trap - From the original Cube -

They don't sound very dimensional related. They are cool, but not dimensional related, except for the Magnetic one and the continual hallway. Sonic pressure could be cool too. |

Well I was thinking that the Cube could be a blend of nondimensional and dimensional traps.
- Basically to house the dimension they need a solid structure so it won't collapse - |
