ok... i've finally comes to the terms that its almost impossible for me to finish a project alone. i'm looking for a high school screen writer who is interested in collaberating with me on projects in the future. i don't have any main story i want to work on, i was hoping whoever is interesting we could come up with one together.
if interested, reply here, email me at jsantel@fuse.net, or IM me on AIM: Jaydawg2089.
sound good? good...
(off topic... happy 50th post to me!!) |

A lot of high school students spend time at these boards. I'm not one of them, but I PM with some, so let me ask you some questions for their information:
What genre of projects are you most interested in?
Which tv-shows/movies/music influence you artistically?
Which one of these categories most defines your hobbies: Science or sports?
Which genre of books are you most interested in reading?
--This type of information will help potential new friends and helpers to gravitate towards you.

1) I don't think I'm better at any genre, but I find it easier to write, comedy, horror, dramedy... anything i write usually has some dry wit in it.
2) I'll watch anything, but some of my favorite movies are Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, As Good As It Gets, and any GOOD horror or comic book film. My favorite shows are Buffy the Vampire Slayer, South Park, and Simpsons, which i think all are genius and i dreamt o one day create something as monumental as them.
3) Sports, but not because I'm an athlete, but because I suck at science!
4) I don't really read books... i like the Harry Potter franchise if that's anything. |

I don't think you should only look for high school students, when you are younger you get a big head quicker which leads to one having an ego and a glory hog... In this you are only asking for problems but it's your choice, good luck in finding someone in high school that shares your interests |

how can u get an ego off of an unproduced script? i don't think it's fair to say teens get egos quicker. its easy for anyone to get an ego. |

What stereotype? I just made it up but it's a general fact, people get big heads after getting good reviews on an unproduced script. You must be really naieve to think that is not the case with egos and big heads (In general with most ages that is) but if you're going to be angry about me wishing you good luck than I take it back and hope it goes bad. |

Most screenwriters, regardless of age, are egotistical.
As for having a teen writer, why? Unless you're writing a script about high school, and even then it's a bit narrow minded and you kind of limit your script.

I never said you don't get an ego with a script, but you talked as if high-schoolers were the only ones to get fat heads. I personally keep the constant opinion that my writing sucks, and then I pride myself for being wrong when given good reviews. |

Oh, I should clearify, I don't mean it'll limit your script in how well it's written, rather how realistic it seems.
Consider, I'm not a college student, so anything I write about college is going to be cliched. And something I write about high school, is probably going to be one-sided or focus on the type of people I hang out with.

Hmm, I write stuff about high school, but I'm in college. Of course, I am only entering my sophomore year, so I feel apt to write about either place. Are you looking for someone who can write about high school, or just someone from high school? |

i don't need to write about high school (although a project may have high schoolers in it). that's not what i need help with. i just am looking for a co-writer around my age. i just think the same mind set would be easier to work with, rather then working with someone 10 years older than me. |
