Why would you want to do a remake of WotW when a remake is out in theaters now?

Now seriously, you think I am going to get ascript predouced right after WOTW came out? Come on, duh, no way. I am not that stupid. I am 13, so it wont be produced early, but it is always great to start early.

No one will be interested in seeing another remake and no one will want to read something they just saw.

You want to write a script that you can't use for fifteen or twenty years?  Why not write something original?  Something on your own?

Newcomers who jump on these boards and immediately look for collaborators generally don't get any.

You'd never get a WOTW script sold now or 50 years from now because I doubt if this one is good they'll need to remake it.

It takes them more than 30 years to ever start real remakes and I doubt your script could stay relevant that long.

If you're only writing it so that one day it can be produced run now and never look back because it's a waste of time... do as mentioned above and write something original so people care about your work and not compare you to something that's produced.

It would be a good excercise in writing.  Read the original story and write your own adaptation.  The problem is that it's not a product you can sell.  You're better off taking an Wells story, or anyone else's story, and adapt it.

When was the last time a movie was produced that was based on an Edgar Allen Poe story?

An Edgar Allen Poe adaptation would be sweet. I started on one some time ago that combined William Wilson, Berenice, The Tell Tale Heart, Maelstrom, The Pit and the Pendulum, and the Fall of the House Usher, along with some tidbits of Poe's own life and some other stories and poems thrown in for good measure. It was pretty cool. I may have to drag it out at some point.

Actually my script is coming out well, and is staying relevant. My 3 Made up characters actually have realistic personalities, and actually have realisitc relationships made out with their personalities,

Wesley, I promise my script will be sold oneday, and when it does get turned into a movie, i am just going to say told-ya.

I don't care how people compare me, maybe yall do, but I don't, I don't write because I just want to make money like some of yall, I write because I want to.

Wesley, I believe it was you who said some write for fun and not just to get sold or something like that. The hardest part for this remake would be getting the rights to produce it from the current production's company. The story is public domain, though, 'cause Mr. Wells is long dead, so I don't know how that would work.

I say if you want to do it, go ahead. It won't hurt anything, and it would be good practice.

So if I'm dead at the time you sell it will you come to my grave and tell me? I can show you where I'll be buried, it's just 5 minutes away from my house... if you want.

George he said he'd sell it not that he's doing it for fun.

You're the one posting threads on the wrong board not us, I'm Looking For and or Work in Progress are more suited for your ideas and what you're looking for.

This board was created for a collaborative effort awhile back and I don't believe was ever to leave this thread just people tacking on new scenes to the posts.

Soon, a lot of people come on this board and, right away, announce that they're looking for someone to co-write something with them.  And they generally don't get that co-writer.  First of all, no one knows if you can write.  Given this, why would they want to spend that much time with you?

Your best bet is to post something you wrote so people will know what they're getting into if they work with you.
