I don't understand one damn word you said. And why call out Wes? What'd he do? If you think everyone is mad at you where you live do you call out one person to make it right?
I can't say I'm mad at ya... I don't understand ya, but I ain't mad at ya. |

I said please answer honestly. What am I doing wrong to make you guys mad? At Wes said something to me saying i'm not a thought of as a member, because he got annoyed of what I've been doing (read the Bloody Murder Website thing), and if I can tell that he's pissed off, I read other replies, and people are not taking me seriously or something (read the administrator and morderator thread) Yeah Wes is mad at me, what he said, that's why I made this post. Wes i can tell is one person whose mad. That's the first person that I need to call out, since he just posted a message replying i did somethin wrong.
I'm just trying to find out what I'm doing wrong, so I can fix the situation. Do you get me now? |

I don't think anyone is "mad" at you. You have to understand that SimplyScripts drips of sarcasm...Some of it's funny, some of it's dry, some of it's quite humorous (but not in the TBS way...).
Anywho, we are all a community and I can't see anything you've done wrong. A lot of people are very opinionated and will tell you what they are thinking upfront.
Make sense? |

Look, Wes is a moderator... it's his ball of wax to play with "so to speak" He, like several of us, don't like to see people come on the boards for one thing and then leave... If you're not gonna contribute, then don't bother being a member.
I'm not saying what you have to say is pointless and what I have to say is golden... not at all. I'm just saying make sure you are here cause you have something to contribute to the "BOARDS" and not just gain for yourself.
There is nothing more annoying as seeing someone post a screenplay... we all read it and respond and then the writer never comes back. Why even post the thing, ya know?
With you... I've poked fun at ya a time or two... That's just me. I like to be on the opposite end of the feild with people... a lot of the time. I like conflict and saying what I feel, reguardless of anyone else's opinions. Not saying I'm right and they're wrong... just saying it's what I beleive and I will stand up and stick it out to the end... no matter how bad someone makes me look like a fool.
That about sums it up. Bloody murder sucks too by the way. |

Is this what you're referring to, E.T.?
I'm old fashioned and don't consider you a member of the site just because you signed up and spent about 90% of that time talking about yourself and your work... Ring any bells? |
If this is true, then I agree with Wes. Phil |

Also, I believe E.T. took offense to Baltis calling him "new" in the Bloody Murder thread. E.T.? Seriously, you are new, you joined the board on November 1st! I consider myself new and I joined in June. Regardless, I think you need to grow a thicker skin, E.T. I don't think anybody hates you, not even Wes. He's a confirmed curmudgeon, so take everything he's says with a grain - no make that an institutional size box - of salt. |

One thing, I didn't came on this board to fight with anyone, I just wanted to get some feedback on my scripts, and talk to people about there scripts.
Can you guys clarify some things: 1) What did Wes meant by that?
I'm not trying to offend people or all that stuff, I just don't want people to talk trash about me or dislike or get annoyed on what I do.
Just tell me what that means - problem solved.
Ps. Can some1 delete this thread?! |

An ill-tempered person full of resentment and stubborn notions.
or
a crusty irascible cantankerous old person full of stubborn ideas.
Both are pretty accurate descriptions of Wes, or at least his posts. Well, except for the old part.
And I suspect the thread will be deleted or closed shortly. |

Well, I want to say something before the thread gets closed...just for fun.
This has been said repeatedly, and it'll be said until th end of time. To get reads, you gotta give reads. Read the scripts of others and leave feedback, and people will be inclined to read yours. Not only those whoose script you might have read, but other people will see that you are an active member (an active member participates in various pointed and pointles discussions) and look at your script.
It's not a consistent thing, I'll grant, but you're more likely to get read that way, than by whining about being mistreated. Some people are more pointed than others, but take it all in stride and you'll be fine. |

E.T. who cares if people like you? I don't care if anyone likes me... many don't... trust me. All I care about is interacting with, obviously, better writers than myself and hearing what they think about my work and giving feedback on what I think about others work.
If you come to the dance wanting to be the best dressed, most liked and all that... people will hate you. It's just instilled in everyone to think this way...

I sure as heck don't like you,got the posts to prove it... But that aside, E.T. you have to give some to get some...dig what im saying? it has to be better than "it was good" sure you don't have into details if your not sure about it,heck i don't because i have no clue if format is right or not unless it really shows like Myers scripts. I've read scripts were i loved them and read scripts were i didn't enjoy them and always told what i thought, good or bad. so keep in mind that in order to be a productive member you must first be willing to give before geting any rewards for it,you might not even get any responses but that is ok just keep going and at some point it will all come back to you. enjoy the rest of your stay here. |

Ha! What a weird little thread. Please don't delete this one until Wesley has had a chance to respond. Then it can go. ET: Anything posted on these boards -- be it witty, hateful, stupid, or downright nonsensical -- is buried under new posts within two days and completely forgotten. It is silly to obsess and read too much into anything on here. (A tip, tho: Everybody likes people who leave thoughtful comments on scripts other than thier own ) |

I'm crusty alright... but that's another story.
So I get to reply to my own thread? Awesome.
Look it's not that I don't not like you but I wouldn't cry if you left... I'd be really happy if you took that other guy from the script contests with you though.
And from what Dogglebe reposted I stick by the comment, I'm sorry but I'm fighting to bring the boards back to the glory they used to have even if it's kicking and screaming. Don won't get mad at me for weeding out members who he deletes after a few months anyway because they disappear.
If you want and apology you're not going to find one, the only thing I'm sorry for is not having said something sooner.
A lot of people don't like me either and it shows but you don't see me trying to find out who (Mostly because I know) and if you don't like me, well I'm torn apart inside... really I am. |

Uhh if tonight at work goes well I can begin production on my web series or the writing stage, looking for a director I can bring to Ontario and so on down the list. If not back to the drawing boards ha-ha that's why I needed writers. |

I'll be buying one for the series as where it is now is actually meant for my other series ha-ha but it probably won't be as good as yours because I don't know if I can find a director that can and will do a web series for no money.
Oh and the series is now green lit as I have the job security I was looking for. It will happen but not until this snow clears as I don't like the cold.
What I'll do that I'll also suggest to you next time you do an episode is film more than one at a time so you can get more done just in case the actors wont return forcing you to delete them or ruin the series by replacing him with a new guy.
I want to take a week out of my guys lives and film at least 5 episodes... I can take the main guy who plays kenny and film 50% of each episode in probably a day.
The thing I'd like for you to tell me is where can i get a larger Green Screen than you had? My single character scenes are in a white room with only a futon and a poster of Banana Chan so I'd need to have everything but those two and the character a white color... I might change it to some demented landscapes as the episodes go on but to start it makes the character look almost holy ha-ha |

The green screen was purchased by my friend Brett off of eBay. I'm not exactly sure how much it cost. As for finding a director, why not do the job yourself? You seem to be the one who is getting everything together, you might as well oversee the production itself as well. And, as for your filming multiple episodes in one week reccomendation, I certainly would if we all had the time. As it is, we will be filming on a very erratic schedule throughout the week of Thanksgiving. Also, the script for the first episode was 32 pages, "Star Wars" scene included. This time, it is about 50 pages and that is not including the "Next Week," which, this time around, will be much longer (I submitted it about a week ago, so it will hopefully be online fairly soon).
Good luck with your web series. And, I do not know how long you are planning on making these, but I would not reccomend filming too many episodes in such a short ammount of time. It's better to have maybe three very good episodes out there than five mediocre ones. Just some friendly advice, and I hope to see the finished product when it is done. |

I wouldn't release 5 mediocre episodes though, I know if something is bad or not so I would never release them if they were anything like what's on TV nowadays. (Again TV has better production and more money but the quality is a bit lacking as every show blends into the next) I'm more of a behind the scenes pull the strings type than an actual director.
How come your episodes are so long though SyCo? Mine are only 21 - 28 pages in length if I'm lucky... But I'm one of those perfectionists who cut out all the fat before I release it and people point out the rest of the fat that just seems like filler.
Your episode was only about 20 minutes if I remember correctly.
Another idea I just thought for you is making your own commercials to intercut into the episodes, get friends to dress up, buy an item or create one and sell the item in your own commercials. I don't know why but that would be pretty funny to see someone making fun of how commercials take away from good shows. |
