Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to say a quick 'hello'. I've been visiting this site and the discussion board for several months, and figured it was time to actually sign up...lurking in the shadows started to feel a little bit creepy.

Have had a lot of fun so far looking over the various threads, and have learned a lot already. Have also had the opportunity to read some really good stuff on here, and look forward to contributing at some point down the road.

A little background on me - I started writing at around the age of seven or eight, about as soon as I could operate a computer keyboard (the stories were awful, total Hardy Boys rip-offs...but I tried), and have never lost my love for it, though through my teenage years I abandoned it to chase a musical dream. That being said, I've recently come back to writing with more passion than ever, and have delved into screenwriting for the first time as well.

I'm a man of few words (save for the written ones), so you likely you won't see me popping up on here too much, but again, just thought it appropriate to say hello - and it's nice to meet you all!!

Welcome to SS.

"I'm a man of few words (save for the written ones)"
that's totally okay. I'm short with the written ones, but my mouth seldom quit talking. We're all different.

Hi Dressel,

I don't write mysteries anymore, no...I still love watching a good mystery movie though, and I'm pretty pumped for 'The Hardy Men', if it ever gets made...such an hilarious concept.

Nowadays I'm all over the map with writing. Mainly thriller specs, and I would love to write a horror spec, but I'm having trouble deciding on the right idea. Cheesy slasher movies are a guilty pleasure of mine, but it's tricky trying to come up with a new angle on that genre.

I am working on a horror novel, but it's just something I pick away at - hard to say if it'll ever get done. At the moment, I'm having a really good time with screenwriting...at the end of a writing session, I actually feel like I've gotten something done!! With the novel, I can write for hours without making much of a dent.
