Hi everyone,
I hope you're all doing well, just want to vent some stuff. Lately (I've gotten better now) but I've been feeling like I suck and I'm not good enough, I'm too slow at writing. When I began last year I had no idea what I was doing and have written so much for a TV program that I turned into a movie to make it easier. It's almost finished but if anyone can give me advice on writing drama that's sold some scripts? Also when it's done and complete (hopefully within 3 more week) I've been writing it for 13-14 months and I just want it done already -_-.
What do I do once it's written? Post it here and then buy some coverage on bulletproof screenwriting?

Could somebody please get in touch with me that has been writing drama/trauma/comedy that's sold some scripts I just want to Skype call and get some feedback, tell them the little things I need to fit into the screenplay before it's done. I would really like to get this completed already because I feel I'm wasting my time and I'm a fucking loser. It's my dream to be a writer producer and o work long hours because I need the money but end up getting depressed and frustrated because I'm a shit writer, no hope sometimes but I can't give up.

Please be someone out there, thankyou all.

Hey man,

Don't have much of anything sold or accomplishments to speak of, so don't take this as gospel...

But I rewrote my first feature ever for like a year and a half before I joined this site. Once I got here, I realized I had no idea how to write descriptions, dialogue, characters, scenes, or even what genre I was really writing in.

There are writers out there who can churn out one or two features on their own and find success. Those are the 0.0001% with godlike talent. For us mortals, we gotta start small.

I suggest you start with short scripts. There's a whole bunch you can find on this site. Read some, offer feedback. Then, write your own short (3-10 page) stories and post them here.

Consider entering an OWC (one week challenge), where you have to write a short using specific guidelines.

If you dive in, people here will give feedback. There are many talented, helpful, and very experienced writers on this site.

First step is accepting you may have a long ways to go. We all did, and still do.

Start small. Work hard. And never give up.

That rug really tied the room together.

BillyJ, you could do both of those things - post your feature when it's completed here for feedback and/or send it out for coverage first and then post it on SS.

You've obviously done a lot of work over the months on this feature length screenplay so it's clear to me at least that this is your focus for now..

Alternatives are to post a request on the script exchange board here:
https://www.simplyscripts.net/cgi-bin/Blah/Blah.pl?b-goose/

Or:

Post some of your script in the WIP board here:
https://www.simplyscripts.net/cgi-bin/Blah/Blah.pl?b-workinprogress/

Most of the writers here on SS are looking for advice, comments, feedback on their script so we're all in the same boat and we all have to start somewhere so don't fret.

Hey thankyou both so much for the advice, I guess I've just been feeling so sick lately with bad self esteem. I'll keep trying and I need to finish this anyway I'm not going to give up. I will finish this script in the next month and then post it and start doing reviews in return for feedback for mine. Then I'll try changing it and after that send it out for script coverage, edit it again and then leave it. Could anybody please help me though? I need to talk to somebody that knows how to write trauma drama just a Skype call to help me get through this I'm not going to write anymore until this comes clearer I'm so close to finishing

Is anyone out there that has experience in writing features for drama/trauma i really like allen ball and paul thomas anderson some of russell crowe (apologise for shit spelling) I just need someone to help me through a treatment, logline and help me know the middle part of the story? The outline is there I've completed pages 1-40 and completed about 75-125  its just the middle that needs carving now as its all writing that i just started when I began in 2019 deleting scenes with no relevance, please can there be someone out there who knows this shit to just Call them and get some information and a little guidance.    PS. sorry for the shit grammar in this post i promise that its not like that in the script anymore.

Billy,

You can save what you have to Dropbox or something and post it in the Work In Progress section of the site.
