So, finally got a website. Was just wondering if some peeps would have a look, tell me what you think. Advice, accessibility, things you'd change, stuff like that. Any feedback is cool. Thanks!

Looks good! Can you make the big My Work on the front page link to the scripts page so you can just click that? Took me a bit to figure out I had to click that tiny thing at the top to get there.

Also, I think you've shown on this site some trailer videos, photos, maybe even some finished shorts? Might wanna show them on your website in a My Films section.

Thanks, James. Just did it a couple days ago. I'm not much of an instructions reader, I kinda just discover things - wow, didn't know I could do that! So, it might take me a little to get this site up to speed.

Big thing right now is the CONTACT page. I really want to get a proper form there for peeps to reach me. Guess I'll figure that out as I go. Appreciate you taking a look.

The message you have now on the contact page is pretty funny though.

I don't know anything about Weebly, but there's usually some toolbin thingy where you can drag and drop ready made stuff like contact forms.

I found this on google:

https://www.weebly.com/features/form-builder

So, it's probably there somewhere in the website builder application.

Hmm.

For one, I would never leave a link blank. It gives the use the impression that you are still under construction. Your menu item labeled "Journal" goes nowhere. I would either delete the link or add something. I use WIX so I am not sure whether or not you can so that on the Weebly template.

IMO - there should be an easy way for folks to get to your scripts from the home page. What you have:

MY WORK

CHECK OUT THE DISCOVER PAGE TO VIEW MY SCREENPLAYS.

Is a bit clunky. First, it is not intuitive what the discover page is and how to get to it and ideally you want users to simply click on "My Work" and be directed towards your work.

I think the My Tools page is not needed. All the info could easily be included in the About Me.

In the About me - I would lose the since 2012 - it is irrelevant and basically says you only have five years of experience. Not saying that is a bad thing, but it doesn't add anything.

"several of my works have been filmed or optioned" - would be nice to provide a link to the filmed ones

Hope this helps

I agree with Dave about being able to easily access your work.

I was clicking on "MY WORK" for a bit thinking the link wasn't working. I like it to be easy and I don't want to be directed somewhere else "Check out the discover page to view my screenplays."

The extreme facial close-up on a large computer monitor was a bit much. Maybe a toned down professional looking headshot.

Just my 2 cents.

Haha, you're a fine looking specimen, maybe just zoom it out slightly

Yeah, like I told James, I'm still kinda feeling my way around this, and if I can't link the scripts I suppose I could easily put them under the MY WORK section, though I would like a link. That and the contact page. I'm sure I'll figure it all out.

Out of curiosity, what made you decide to use weebly as opposed to wiz? Just legitimately curious.

It's very easy to use and understand. I'm not sure the extreme close up of your face is such a good idea. It's really overwhelming. Can you zoom out a bit? Maybe your website could look flashier. The white background in the 'discover' section is a bit bland. Maybe your site is a bit simple. Can you add more sections? Maybe a page just for photos, or something?

Gave,

If you're still around I apologize for not replying. Just thought Weebly seemed a little better. That's about all I can offer on that.

Simon,

Thanks for the tip. Still working on that giant image of me!

Easy to navigate and the scripts loaded nice and fast.  Could jazz up the script listing page a bit I suppose - make it a little more visual.  Guess it depends on how much time you want to put into it vs. the writing.

That is quite a big image of yourself to lead in with

Lol! Out of everything on my website the one flaw everyone agrees with is the image of my giant head.

The head would be better if we could see all of it and you weren't obviously looking at your phone while you took a selfie.

Aside from that... it's Weebly. It's meant to be easy. Things go south once I click to the scripts section. There's a title, a logline, and a link. Try prettying things up in this section, maybe write your own positive review or synopsis. Include an image that represents the story. You've had several filmed, why aren't you showing them off on your website? If they're worthy of showing, you should have them up.
