Mean Creek is the story of Sam, a young teenage boy living in a small town in Oregon. During school Sam is frequently being humiliated and beaten up by a fat tall kid named George. When Sam's older brother Rocky here's of this, he plans for a little revenge. They invite George to a fake birthday trip for Sam at the river, where they would beat George, strip him naked and leave him there in the woods for him to run home. Rocky gets his two friends Marty, whose father recentley commited suicide, and Clyde, whose is made fun of for being raised by two gay dads, and also Sam's friends Millie. But on their way towards the river Sam starts to see George differentley, not as a mean bully, but just as a misunderstood kid desperate for some friends, and sam decides to call it off, but Rocky's friends refuse to and thinks that George deserves whatever he has coming towards him.

Mean Creak is Exciting Teen Drama/Thriller from start to finish, and is probably the best film of 2004 that nobody ever saw. while this isnt in theaters anymore it is coming out on dvd on Jan 25. and i encourage everyone to atleast  go to their local video store and rent this film. I garantee(sp) you will not be dissapointed

4 out of 4 stars

Thank God someone wrote a review on this, because this movie definitely deserves more attention.  I was pleased to see it receive some acclamade at the Independent Spirit Awards this year.  These kids are phenomenal actors.  Rory Culkin is gifted, in that he has his brothers' talent.  I think he could be my favorite Culkin out of the three, even though I'm more around Mac's age.  (Sorry I can never spell his name right, so I call him Mac.)

Also, thank you for not ruining the ending for others, because while a very complex film, it's very easy to give away the ending, so I'm glad you didn't.  I don't know, the start for me was a little muddled, but once they got going on the trip itself, I was really intrigued.

It's a good one to check out.  I agree.

true love waits... i guess.

This film was just okay, it has a lot of underage children and I felt uneasy when they kissed or when that little girl was dressed like a tramp.

I liked what they did and everything was great until the Bully lashes out while in the boat, that's where the film turns into a crap fest, much like Red Eye the 3rd act sucks or is something that Hollywood expects and it hurts the film.

I personally would have went in another direction as I liked where it was going up until that certain point, that's about all I'll say that hasn't been said previously.

7.5 out of 10 - Still a very good watch and has an R Rating.

It really is but when you come to the end don't be surprised if it plays out exactly how you see it going from when they set it up.

When things happen as people thought that they would happen, it usually does not result in surprise

If you want to use that to make jokes that's fine but you'll see what I mean.

If you read the synopsis of the film and then what I said about the ending I actually spoil the ending
