I urge you all... NO! I demand you all to see this movie! It is one of the most brilliant films ever thought up in this life time... it's amazing!
I just got thru watching it after 4 hours of restless worry for my impending day...
This movie fell into my lap at B.B. last night "litterally fell into me" and the girl I was with said I should get it cause it's an omen or some shit... well, I'm glad I did, cause this is easily one movie that I have to say is worth every second of the 98 minutes... from start to finish, after the credits roll... watch it all... live it all... breath it all.
I will buy this movie today if it kills me... it's that good.
The cast - MATT DILLON, STEVE ZAHN, CHIRSTINA APPLEGATE~
I know what you're saying... MATT DILLON is the only one worth piss in a cat dish, right? Yeah, well that might be true but the others do their job and do it well. Beilieve me.
This movie is everything in one. It's powerful, it's funny, it's dark, it's moody, it's action, it's twisting, it's turning, it's a roller coaster of emotions and just plain out and out good times.
It's one of the smartest films I've seen in the last 10 years, maybe even 15... it's so well thought out and has so many instances where this means this and this is a becon for something to come later or something that has happened.
The movie is about a man, who has it all... great job, great wife to be, great car, great house... and how he looses it all in a day and even his life to follow.
I do not want to give this away for any who have not seen it... I do want to make sure everyone here on this site gives it a look, cause I'm just stunned at how well this movie was... "WHO'D HAVE EVER THUNK IT??" I owe my friend for her omen theory, cause had she not been with me... I'd probably never have picked this one up... LOL!
Please check it out~
10 out of 10, easily!
Good thoughts and now I'm off to bed bed for atleast 2 hours of sleep
IMDB is a good site, but however you have to look at the number of users who review as opposed to the ones who didn't, ya know?
I do believe it is a sleeper hit... I mean, I'm a very very very strict movie guy... By this I mean I have to have my movies "by and large" Smart, interesting, and somewhat workable... This movie really is fuggin' brilliant, trust me!
All I can say is watch it and see... 3 of the best acting preformances I've seen in a long long long time and hands down the best screenplay since "E.S.O.T.S.M" and "GARDEN STATE" easily...
I'm not I'll watch anything at least once, even Gigli haha. I will see if I can find it to buy but where I live they have large stores but the dvd and music selections are mostly bone dry of good films
Yeah, so I'll see if i can even rent it off the movie network or rogers on demand and than we'll see
steve zahn? he was hilarious in saving silverman, and had a huge change in roles when he switched to a much more serious part in broken glass, he was the only thing that made daddy day care slightly excusable. I'd watch it.
Just got round to watching this film and thought it was brilliant! Matt Dillon really is fantastic in this movie. Sometimes I find him rather annoying, but he pulled this rle off perfectly. He is indeed "the man with the f%cked up face" lol, as he says.
Steve Zahn literally kills me, he is so damn funny and I was impressed with the lead girls too. Especially Applegate. She's come a long way since "Married with Children".
I highly recommend this movie. It's full of twists and turns and I guarantee it's not predictable at all. Rent it, buy it, you won't be sorry.
Sorry, guys, I disagree. I watched this last night and I wanted to like it because; A: I'm the President of the Resurrect Matt Dillon's Career Club. B: I bought a copy of this to give my dad for Father's Day.
But I have to say that I thought this was ordinary. The first half was pretty good, it set up a fairly interesting premise with the protagonist losing his job and his wife, but I thought it fell away quite badly in the second half.
As for the last 15 minutes; with twist upon twist and half a dozen false endings, it left me feeling that the film had been completely overcooked. Sure you could say that it was farce comedy or some such thing, but that's not how the film presented itself to begin with.
I also thought, at times, that the intrusive soundtrack and camera tricks made it come across as a bit of a student film.
Whilst Dillon worked hard with what he had it was the script that let him down; as for Zahn, whilst he was mildly amusing, I think he's in danger of becoming type cast, because his character in this was very similar to his character in Out of Sight; you know, the motor mouthed wise guy who isn't afraid to say what the rest of us are thinking, even though we're not thinking it.
I saw this on holiday in holland the other month, wasn't the best of films but I'd say it was a fairly good solid film, kept me and my friends interested for an hour and thirty-eight minutes so it can't be too bad.
Above average, erm.....7/10
"We don't make movies for critics, since they don't pay to see them anyhow."
I walked into the movie theater thinking that this movie was going to be a bust. In fact, I was almost sure that it would be. But, it wasn't too bad of a film. Here are the top 5 things I liked about it.
1) It is pretty original... I have never seen a movie taking place in a Costco... (Super Club).
2) The boss always talks about how mean his brother was to him, and how he tortured him when he was little. When his brother is a dwarf.
3) The security guard, priceless. Some overweight guy who has the softest voice you've ever heard, who always gives Dane blueberry muffins.
4) Andy Dick, that says a lot. I can't really remember too many great movies that Andy was in, but this one, he did a pretty good job as a guy who can't see, despite having glasses.
5) The script, surprisingly, was well written. I enjoyed every line of it.
Below are the things I didn't like.
1) Employee of the Month is anything you would expect from a romantic comedy. Guy meets girl, girl likes other guy, guy fights for girl with the other guy, wins her, loses her, and wins her again.
2) The cheese factor. Very cheesy.
3) I hated Ephram Ramirez, him and John Heder always play as the same role. Some loser...
To be honest, I think you shouldn't use your 10 bucks right now. Wait until it is out on DVD, and rent it.
3.5/5
Go Read Vibration in the shorts section... I'll return the favor...
I think this movie looks shocking, and Jessica Simpson - hoo is hot - is wot makes ppl wanna see the film In my opinion. But i havent seen it so i cannot critisise or praise lol.
Problem is this film is using the same name as another film http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0362590/ which came out in 2004 and it seems like they couldn't think of a better title and it will hurt them in the long run especially come DVD time.
"Hey, do you have employee of the month?"
"Sure"
You go in and get some Matt Dillon film where he robs the bank where he was fired from.
At least the Dillon film was aimed at an older audience. This one seems to just feed off horny teenagers. (No offense to horny teenagers)
Jessica Simpson ruins absolutely everything she goes near. I just think she's terrible. She definately can't act, but she does have a beautiful singing voice. It's a shame she wastes it on songs like These Boots Are Made For Walking and other such travesties. Nancy Sinatra would be rolling around in her grave if she weren't still alive.
