I purchased the UK released DVD because it is Two discs unlike the upcoming NA version which is only one.

Either this movie is the most ingenious film or the dumbest but either way it is very entertaining.

Simon Pegg and Nick Frost have great on-screen chemistry and together can make any film interesting.

The plot of this film is pretty simple. Once he gets where he's going and meets the gang every scene sets up the conspiracy and you will probably see the villain right away like I did but what actually happens is unexpected.

Now I want to see the series Spaced which has both Pegg and Frost. I liked this film better than Shaun of The Dead but both are very different.

Best movie I've seen in a long time. I was a huge fan of Spaced and Shaun of the Dead, so was eagerly anticipating this movie for a long time.

I would have to say that its ingenious. A fantastic homage to buddy cop movies and the likes. Just like Shaun of the Dead was a fantastic homage to zombie/horror movies.

This movie is a lot of fun, the fact that this is the kind of movie they are making fun of makes it even more enjoyable, this is Lethal weapon/bad boys/point break, and the film makers seem to have a fondness for those movies, it even has some of the exact same scenes, especially at the end with a fight in the rain which is exactly like the fight between Mel Gibson and Gary busy. and also the point break scene.  I liked Shawn of the dead more, but this is still a solid entertainment, my only beef, and it is a small one is that it starts off more of a parody of slasher films, then it changes to action, I kinda wish they just kept it action, spoof one type of film at a time, but that is a minor quibble to a most enjoyable movie.

I also think the title would make a great name for a Porno movie

the title says it all. Hot Fuzz is most definately THE best comedy I have seen. I usially do not watch brittish comedy besides shaun of the dead and Benny hill. But Hot Fuzz is alot better than most american comedies. This is one movie that I can Give a 10/10. I don't give many movies tens, the onlyother ones were The shawshank redemption and Pulp fiction. But this movie is great. But... if you are not a fan of brittish comedy, give it af***ing try! If you don't like it's humor, and you are a gore hound, there are some pretty grusome moments in the movie. Just give it a watch. In fact, buy it, it's worth your money. This movie isn't just a rent and watch or a "HEY!!! let's rent it off netflix and burn it onto a blank dvd!!!" NO!!! this is a movie you HAVE TO HAVE IT ALL!!! If you are a true movie collector, definately get this movie.

Ps... I'm an american, and this is one of the top best movies EVER.I put this in my top 5 favorite comedies and top 10 favorite movies of all time.

This was a great film.

Pegg and Frost really are an amazing duo and this film ranks as one of the best buddy-cop films ever made, even if it spoofs them in the process.

The first two acts are best, IMO. The third one does an Adaptation but without the genius, and goes over the top. Sure, it was fun, but at that point, the film started to imitate rather than parody the genre. But it looked cool, so I didn't mind that much.

It was surisingly gory, though. Which was awesome.

And of course it contains one of the best homage lines of all time:

"Forget it, Nicholas, this is Sandford..."

HAHAHA! Tip of my hat, gentleman!

This was a blast. The humor is great and so British and the directing makes the movie almost a Michael Bay clone. I'd like to think these guys are laughing at him and not with him but overall, there seemed to be a fondness for these kind of flicks. Oh well. It was still great. I was a little surprised that, however, at how much this felt like another horror spoof, in addition to a cop/buddy/action spoof. I'd say it was a pleasant surprise as it added another dimension to the movie. And for a comedy, the acting in this was pretty cool, especially from former James Bond, Timothy Dalton. He was awesome.

Well, that's about all I have to say about Hot Fuzz. I think most of you already know it rules. And to those of you in England were a little ticked that we got Grindhouse before you guys, you won. Hot Fuzz is, just as I expected, better.

To me, what makes this movie special, like Shaun of the dead, is the love of the movies they are poking fun of, like the old Mel brooks films, I think these guys liked George A Romero's old zombie films, just as they loved the lethal weapon films, kinda like making fun of your buddy, when you make fun of someone you hate it comes across as hostile and not funny.  If they made movies they hated it would come across as just a one joke film like the Scary movie films, or spy hard, those had no joy for what they were doing, you could see the fun on the screen in this film, and joy only comes from love, like I'm sure Mel brooks loved the old Frankenstein movie, that;s what made young Frankenstein so funny, same with the old westerns which made blazing saddles a hoot, if you make fun of movies you hate the film turns sour and there are no real laughs other than for the people who made them.  That is why I like these guys, they have so much fun in what they do it just comes across the screen.

This movie was great!  I loved the action at the end with the townspeople!
The camera work and the music by David Arnold was killer!  I had a hard time following some of that British accent and dialogue at times, but enjoyed it none the less...

I also like the casting on this!  All these famous English actors were great... Even had 'ol Edward Woodward "The Equalizer"!

I agree, Jordan. These guys were having a good natured dig at the cop buddy genre, rather than looking down their noses at it. I don't know if I should admit this, but I really related to the sidekick, I'm always talking about movies at work when I should be focusing on my job. Anyway, this was a lot of fun and well worth a rent.  

I loved it. I also loved Shaun of the Dead. I've never heard of Spaced.

I think Hot Fuzz was pretty incredible. Three genres combined into one movie seamlessly should be a hard thing to do, but they pulled it off.

I didn't like it quite as much as Shaun of the Dead, but that's a pretty hard film to match. While it was a completely fresh and original spin on the zombie film, at times I felt like they may be trying a bit too hard to replicate that spin on the cop/buddy film in Hot Fuzz. That said, if Hot Fuzz had come out first, perhaps I'd be saying the same thing about Shaun of the Dead.
