Quoted from James McClung
A lot of bad reviews here. Some of them, really bad. And yet, I've noticed this is probably the most bumped movie review of the past year. So I have to ask. Did anyone think this would actually be good? Jeff and Balt, I'm particularly surprised either of you bothered to sit through this so I'm especially curious as to the circumstances in which you guys found yourselves doing so.

I often do things I don't like to do to let others know what not to do later in life.  I once sat through a 50cent album and just recently had to listen to Taylor Swift's horrifying shift toned train wreck of an album on a trip back from St.louis.  We do things in this life not because we nessassarily love doing them, rather we have to or have a need to be fair.

But believe me, I played the hell out of my music on the way down there.

As for this film, to gross that much and to be so grossly miscast is a huge travesty.  Robert England and Wes Craven probably use this film as in inside joke at cocktail parties.  They probably point and laugh at Hailey behind his back -- Hell, they probably do it in front of him.  Lame as dude.  The worst recast I've ever seen.  EVER!

P.S. This movie was free for PSN users one night I believe.  I think that's how I ended up watching it.  It was on a saturday and Sony had set up a promotional thing... Or I got the redeem code somehow.  In any event I'm sure it was on the Ps3.

I love movies, period...especially horror movies.  I sit through them all.

I did think it could have been decent to good.  No reason it wasn't.  The original, although far from great, was interesting and well done for the most part.  If nothing else, it is iconic and launched an entire slew of sequels, so that's saying something about it.

Normally, I'd see all these flicks in the theater, but money is extremely tight these days, so I see most of them on DVD through Netflix as soon as I can get my hands on them.

We don't even have a review thread for Splice and yet this one gets all the attention.

At least someone mentioned how bad the original was to begin with. None of the so called classic horror films are THAT good if you watch them without the fanatics who defend them to death.

You can only do so much in remaking this shit to make it any better.

W, I actually watched the original last night and was surprised how good it was...and shocked at how much better it was than the $35 Million remake.

I saw Splice last weekend and will throw up a post ASAP.
