The Twin Peaks movie is amazing. It’s both genuinely hilarious and also very creepy, with no tonal balance between the two. I haven’t seen the show so I was confused the entire time, but it was great.

This is, by far, the funniest scene in a movie that isn’t a comedy: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=5Ug-p6vg8vI

“she’s my mother’s sister’s girl!”

OMG. It's been years since I watched this movie and that scene brought back a flood of memories. I'll have to dig that one out of the closet, bake myself some cherry pie, and put on a pot of coffee.

Watched it a couple years ago before starting Twin Peaks: The Return (which was fantastic). Brilliant movie.

One of my all time fav movies. One thing that always tripped me out though, was the first act seemed to be filmed in either a different format (such as 16mm as opposed to 35mm), or the lens filters changed from act 1 into act 2 to give it a more cinematic look, dream like? Maybe it’s just me and the way it looked on screen.

David Lynch seems like a director who might do something like that though, to disconnect the first act from the rest of the story, yet keep it coherent enough to travel into the 2nd act, which is in effect an upside down version of first act.
