Pleasantly surprised by this limited series with the drab title that I only decided to check out after Stephen King recommended it to his followers on the twitter machine. (It isn't scary, tho)

Like an unexpected mash-up of Aaron Sorkin and Shonda Rhimes, this plays out rapid-fire and mostly clever, with a diverse ensemble cast that makes it easy to keep up with who is who.  I found it refreshing to watch a series of this genre without constantly wondering, "Now who is that again?"

Every actor leaves an impression, and huge tip of the hat to the casting genius who decided it was time to let Michael McKean be President. A treasure, that guy, he is one of the best actors working today.

Full disclosure, this being the Netflix model and all, you do not get resolution in the final episode -- and they promise that a second season is coming (if you trust them) -- but if your summer to-view list is running lean, this one is worth a few episodes to see if it suits you.

Hey, it's my tiny, little IMDb!

Couldn't stick it with this. I think we got through 2.5 EPs before I pulled the plug on it. The start with the British aircraft carrier under attack is really good. After that it was just too plodding along for me...

A shame cause I'm a long time fan of Keri Russell, & I love Michael McKean.

What was with Keri Russell's hair? I could not work out if that was a continuity problem or a flashback, or what!

Anyway, thanks Bert. Always keen for recommendations.
We're watching Stephen King's other recommendation at the moment: From.

No wonder he's a fan. So many of his own trademarks.
