I want lots of gore, believable characters and a good plot with a twist.

Title: Haven't got any, any ideas?
Genre: Horror/Thriller
Main character: unsuccessful actor who recently got dumped by his ex-girlfriend
Supporting character: unsuccessful TV producer
Main goal: they need vacation
Story:

Actor gets a job, a fixed tv game where he can win a vacation.
He can take a companion, he takes the TV producer.
The vacation is a stay at a luxury hotel... on a deserted island.

Six other winners;
Token black guy - white girl
Comic relief dude - fish
Stressed businessman - Slavewife
Love interest - Son
Old woman - Dog
"Old" man - Cat

There's also a butler and a maid.

Helicopterflight to the island

First day/night character development, love interest stuff, comic relief stuff.

Second day more of the same.

Second night a fight between main character and stressed businessman about the way to threat women, love interest respects main character; Partly dialogue: "The point of this trip for all of us is to have fun, is your wife having fun? I think not"

Third day, businessman has hung himself, woman cries even though she was threated badly, leaving a note adressed to main character.

Main character reads it alone, it's written with blood "I'm having fun.", he looks at the corpse's finger, there's no blood, he doesn't have a wound either.

Talks to tv producer in private they argue whether or not they should tell it to everyone. They agree to telephone.
Telephone doesn't work, butler and maid are missing, cellphones don't work they are abandoned for two more days.

At supper saying there's a killer amongst them.
They all freak/joke, some suspect others, black guy says racist...

That night screaming, some bodies found dead, they hear more screaming.

A killer with a babyfacemask is on the loose violently killing almost everyone but three, actor witnesses a lot.

Love interest is alive but heartbroken, son is dead, she runs away from the actor whom she can't trust anymore.

Actor follows her to room TV producer he isn't sure if he's seen her walk in or not, he walks in to find the TV producer on bed with a gun, he aims for the actor.
"Calm down, blablabla"

They hear a hard noise next room, TV producer decides to check it out, actor stays in the room he's tired, sits on bed that's when he feels something is wrong, he uncovers the sheet to reveal;
The body of the love interest.

He flips, he looks at the door to the body to the door, TV producer walks in "She ran off this wa.. Oh my god", actor backs off "Why?"
"Why?! What did you mean man?" They suspect eachother.

Actor sees someone pass in the hall behind TV producer, TV producer ignorant until he gets attacked, he shoots the assailant.

He starts to cry, holds actor they forgive eachother until actor sees that the body of the attacker is missing, he checks the hall and sees the attacker move into a room in slowmotion.

He turns around opens his mouth, but all that comes out is a scream, for what he sees is the babyfacemask guy with the head of the TV producer in his hand, the mouth of the head is still moving as if trying to say something.

He runs downstairs, coming across rooms with bodies, blood everywhere, main doors are sealed shut only way safe is the cellar.

Lights don't work, faint light, he finds a hunting shotgun, 2 shells, he aims for the door, but he hears something that isn't coming from the doors, it's the butler's body who is moving towards him.

He shoots him, blood everywhere, he can't stay calm, babyfacemask stands in the doorway, actor cracks down starts to cry uncontrollably, aims for his own head and BAM

He's still very much alive,  babyfacemask is laughing while descending stairs, he stands near actor, "Did you have fun with the killings?" he asks, actor sobbing neglecting that fact his head, babyfacemask reveals himself...

TV Producer! He says "Well I know I did?" starts to laugh while raising his knife, knife descends fast, blood splatters everywhere actor stops sobbing, story finished? No sir.

It's not over, actor feels his neck, liquid yes but a wound no... Knife is rubber, body of butler rises and starts to laugh, all other participants descend the stairs all with their make-up, laughing, TV producer "Welcome to reality TV my friend"

So, is it good enough?
It's like April Fool's Day but the characters here don't know eachother, so the actor starts to think if he's really insane or not.

I'm not going to read this based simply on your 'token black guy' description.  If you're so shallow that you're using search characters, I'm sure the story will be equally shallow.

yeah, never make it a point to put a token black guy in the script....casting agents'll do that, I think.  In the script, make him Asian and smarter than everyone else - if this is comedy, of course.

Kinda' sounds alot like I Know What You Did Last Summer  -- not the original one -- but the sequel.

Six other winners and half of them bring pets? That doesn’t sound true to life. Can’t a comic relief guy have a friend?

Token black guy? That’s just insulting. Why don’t you just have him choke on fried chicken?

The initial set up sounds like a modern remake of Agatha Christie’s “And Then There Were None” (which is an awesome book by the way). In that story, a killer lures people to an isolated island and kills them off one by one in an elaborate scheme.

The point is, they are all actors because it is a setup, so the black guy has to be stereotypical even though he isn't, comic relief guy has to have no friends (supposedly) so he makes a lot of jokes to be part of the group.

And it's not about a killer

But yeah if you don't read it you don't know what you are talking about of course.

I was thinking about it today but then the characters won't come out on their fullest if you know what I mean but since they aren't "real" anyways I could at least try to make a short first, wait for c&c and then decide if I go for feature length or not

This was an idea that popped up in my head late last night, I had to figure out the ending first before I could sleep ;p

It's also quite like The Game

In high school we had to read And Then There Were None.  A test would follow  a week later.  It just so happened that Ten Little Indians was on the night before.  Everyone knew about it, including the teacher.  The first question on the test was 'who was the killer and what were his/her motives?'

Anyone who said the judge failed the test.

Same kind of thing happened to me with Great Expectations.  In pre-vcr days, GE was shown a few days before a test in English Lit.  There were two trick questions on the test that you could answer one way if you saw the movie and another way if you read the book.  The dork that I was, I got the answers right.  I learned shortly thereafter that in somecases, being wrong is the right answer...

Phil, Don,

Those are funny stories. I guess it’s been a long time since I read the book, ATTWN. I could have sworn the judge was the killer in the book. Man, my memory’s going. Great Expectations was an awesome book too I think.

IIRC, the nanny was the killer in the book.  It's been twenty-five years since I read it.....

The plot sounds okay. I like the reality-TV twist. I'm not too fond of the sound of the characters though. I agree with everyone about the Token Black Guy but token characters in general (comic relief, love interest) are bad anyway. The babyface mask doesn't sound too scary either.

Otherwise, I'd say go for it. The overall approach (good characters/plot) to the genre is a good one.

And it wasn't the judge who did it in ATTWN??? I read the book and watched the movie and I was positive the judge was the killer in both. Someone please explain. This is driving me nuts.

Haha I just had to read and the there were none over the summer.

I can see your influences kenny.
I still know what you did last summer (ATTWN but I don't know if you read it) Jurassic Park with the helicopter flight (but i wont hold that one against) to the island-halloween resurrection (realitiy tv idea except there's goes bad)-mix in the babyface mask from Valentine and some of the most dangerous game
With character descriptions such as the comic relief guy and the STEREOTYPICAL black man and you've got yourself a script.
As a feature I don't recommend it. Reading the script I probably would've strangeled you if you gave me an ending like that and I know at a screening they audience would rise up in arms against you.
As a short it can work very well. You just wouldn't need all of the "getting to know you" stuff since it's going to be fake all alonge.

I like it. It's got a twist ending which would make people upset at first but it's really original.
