The setting of my story is often around cubicles, but I don't know how corporate life is. Who does what? When do they have meetings? What's the routine?

How would you suggest I get first-hand info about life as a corporate worker without interviewing in real life?

Get an internship at an office building. Not sure if that's going to work for you but it's definitely a good way to get first hand info. Don't know if this'll be of any help. I'm afraid I don't know what else to suggest.

In my opinion, in the corporate world employees are really just a number and never have a whole lot of interaction with higher-ups.  They simply serve as drones.

Meetings usually take place between small groups, for example, project managers may get together once or twice a week.

Try googling "the life of a corporate worker" and see what you get.

Ask questions. I work in cubicles every day in a call center. While it isn't the stereotype of office life, I've seen a lot and have a clue. I'm sure I'm not alone Best way to research is to ask questions. Ask away. I'm sure I won't be the only one to answer.

i had a 1 month stint in the corporate office of Foster Farms as a temp...i worked in a cubicle... one of the things i noticed is each section (marketing, purchasing, payroll ect ect) has its own little internal drama. i was in marketing and we had meetings about every other day almost. mostly about selling strategy and product quality.

our manager was an ice queen. she was cold, very unapproachable. always serious. a real killer. she was always in her office with door shut having a meeting with another higher up.

i had a girl in the cubicle behind me who was always on her cell phone talking about her cheating husband. she aired out all her dirty laundry on her cell.. the who office could hear.

there was this cubicle section of 3 or 4 working mothers who were always bantering about reality shows...
