Now this is a must read script for all not everybody who love Charlie Kaufmens work.
This hole story is fantastik after you read it you can't wait for the movie.

Definitely a great script. Charilie Kauffman is without doubt one of the most creative and innovative writers in Hollywood.

I would be really looking forward to this movie if it wasn't for Kate Winslet, she really irritates me. I'm open minded about Jim Carrey but still a bit dubious. Although i do like a bit of Dunst.

I like that she is going to be naked in the movie according to the script

Kate Winslet naked is all I needed to hear...despite my dislike of Jim Carrey.

What i remember so didn't i read anything about Kate's role being naked only Kirsten Dunst.

I haven't read the script yet.  Charlie Kaufman's ADAPTATION was my very recent introduction to his work.  The man is brilliant.  Actually, I guess I was introduced to his work when I read the script for BEING JOHN MALKOVICH back in the days when http://www.script-o-rama.com was still being updated.  (I don't know if they've updated since last time I was there -- I don't care about them anymore, because simplyscripts is billions of times better)

Kirsten Dunst doesn't believe in on-screen nudity, so we're a bit unlucky there but surely as people with a serious interest in screenplays, naked movie stars shouldn't be that important - yeh right!

I wonder who Elijah Wood plays?  he is in it.  where'd you get the script!

He plays a doctor I think...

I read the script last week.  I enjoyed it a lot.  I'm seeing the movie tonight.  I'll enjoy it a lot, unless the director screwed it up.  I read a draft of BEING JOHN MALKOVICH online before I saw the movie.  The script I read had an amazing puppetry contest which was a thrill to read about, and it wasn't in the film.  The thing that ticks me off moreso, however, is that some of the lines which foreshadowed the puppetry contest remained in the final edit of the film.  I hope they didn't wreck the art of Kaufman again with this new film.

I wanna see Kaufman paired with David Lynch. Nonstop insanity.

It would be interesting to see Kaufman paired with David Lynch.  They'd produce a movie that I'd really enjoy watching, but I'd not understand, two fold.

Kaufman, Lynch, Tarantino, and Spielberg, co-co-co-directing a remake of VIVA ROCK VEGAS.  Spielberg will make sure the dinosaurs are realistic, and scary.  Tarantino will make interesting musical selections, write snappy dialogue, and make the dancing scenes oddly suspenseful.
Lynch will add abstract dreamlike post-modernism to the script.  Kaufman will ... well... he'll make it all take place in someone's head.

I gotta agree Charlie Kauffman is one of the most creative writers, i've seen human nature, being john malkovich and eternal sunshine of a spotless mind and i found them all diiferent in the best way.

I read being john malkovich and i was very suprised by the ending, it seems as though Spike Jonze didnt see the cult taking over the world fitting. Although i didnt mind the movies ending, i would like to have seen that puppet duel.

This was a very special movie. I think Jim Carrey is much better as a serious actor than as a comic actor, although he's pretty hilarious most of the time. And you just can't go wrong with Kate Winslet. I think she's one of the great actresses of our time, and she's still under thirty, ain't she.

Thank god for Peter Jackson discovering her for Heavenly Creatures. And James Cameron for rocketing her to superstardom with Titanic.

This movie was strange and funny, but also very moving and touching. I thought it was very poignant how he loves her so much that his mind is fighting to hold onto the memories of her, even though the machine is erasing them. Shows a definate positive outlook on the power of the human heart. Just my opinion.

I do love reading Kaufman. I'm really interested to see him direct in Synecdoche, New York this year.

I read an earlier version of the script (I think it was titled 'Being Charlie Kaufmann'), and in it they flash forward to the future when as an old woman Clementine goes to get Joel erased again. It turns out that they've each had this procedure done over and over again through the years, and their files on each other are huge. I thought it was pretty interesting, but they removed it in the filmed version.

For me the ending of the movie was such that it was a given that they would go on erasing and meeting again for the rest of their lives. I am guessing that it was decided that the final scene was not required to get this point across.  You take what you want from the movie, if you want to believe that they live happily ever after then that's how it ends, if you want to believe otherwise then that door is left open too. A perfect ending really and could not be improved upon.

I heard the studios thought that ending was too depressing so they took it out, but the last scene in the movie is a shot of the two on the beach being replayed several times, which seems to imply that the two will continue to go through the "falling in love, breaking up, erasing each other and meeting again" cycle the rest of their lives.

Regardless, I'm a huge Kaufman fan and am also eagerly anticipating Synecdoche, NY, though I haven't read the screenplay yet (don't want to ruin it for myself).

I didn't like the films for 'Being John Malkovitch' or 'Adaptation' and half-way through 'Eternal Sunshine' I got bored and switched it off. I will look at the 'Synecdoche, New York ' script though.
