How do I create PDF files? Actually, y'know, write a script in the box thing. How do you do that?

I have not any idea in the slightest.... Try going into Abode Reader and saving something you've written in word or whatever as a PDF file.

Adobe Reader only lets you view .pdf files. You need Adobe Writer for this, though some software packages will let you save as a .pdf file. Click on 'save on' on whatever software package you're using and see if you're given that option. Phil

Final Draft lets you save it as any type of file. But some people who send in PDF's say that they had it made into a PDF over the internet...?

See Dr. Mabuse's post right abover yours, Rapture. This is the service I usually use when I'm away from home and have no access to Final Draft (i.e. wrote the script in Word).

You can "save as PDF" from many writing programs, but what you'll get is something along the lines of a 2MB PDF document. This seems to be what the majority of "Movie Scripts" Don posts link to are, as I'm on dial-up and it takes quite a few minutes for a PDF script to load. I've got Adobe PDF Writer which, when you install it, sets itself up as a "printer" and will appear in your "printer select" window, despite it not being an actual, physical printing machine. From there, I just select "print file," (NOT "save file as"), select Adobe Writer as the printer, and voila -- my script is automatically saved AS a PDF document, and nowhere NEAR 2MB's in size. Usually more along the lines of exactly the size it is in the original writing program; about 160 or 180KBs.

I'm going to second this. PrimoPDF is the way to go. It's free and it's easy to use. 'Nuff said.

I generally use the PDF converter in Final Draft 7 for my PDF formatting. Goodluck.
