Came across something called Prewrite today. Prewrite.com. It's a program that helps you plan your story and keep track of it in many useful ways. Including stock photos of locations and characters. There's too much in this program for me to list here, but I played around with it today and so far, I'm pretty impressed. Thanks CJ who mentioned it and gave it a thumbs up as well. Check it out. You get one story for free.
This looks pretty cool, Pia. I’ve signed up and will examine it further. I’ve been looking for something like this - good timing as I’m starting a new feature: a zombie one lol
So far, it looks pretty different than other writing programs and I like the fact that you can have pictures of your characters, something Dave said he does in his planning stages, and also locations and mood. Also helps with themes and such. Checkout the samples Prewrites of well known films. We'll see how I like it after I start the next project.
That’s quite a robust/complex app they put together; I like that it will push a version to Final Draft when you’re ready to publish. Does the script structure remain completely online before publishing? That’s one issue I might have if I were in the sticks with no internet. But still, looks neat… thanks for the link!
So far, this is exactly what I've been looking for. I love how you can automatically start with the Blake Snyder structure. Then add custom beats from other structure "systems" and genre specific stuff.
The picture thing is interesting. I don't know how helpful it will be but it definitely has potential.
I haven't liked any other outlining program till now. They're either too complicated or too focused on listing individual scenes without the broader overall context.
