Sounds good. If you have any queries feel free to share.
Best of luck.
Thanks and likewise! I meant what I said, I do want to be a positive member of this site, and this gives me a chance to do that. Good luck to everyone.
Mine is a horror. I'm starting to get a little worried that I may be losing my desire to write horror, so I'm getting it out of the way now.
I can also say that it's a vampire horror... I've only ever had one of these in my head and I first wrote a version of this as a short over 20 years ago. I also wrote a novelette version (approx 30K) a couple of years after that. At that time, I liked reading about vampires and had studied loads in concerns to where the myth came from etc. Since I started writing screenplays a little over 3 years ago, this has been one of the ideas I have been wanting to adapt.
To be honest though, it is completely different from both the short and the novelette. So is a brand new story. The only thing that survives is the actual concept. Changing it to a female lead has opened up a whole new area which I am thoroughly enjoying exploring at the moment.
I've had an idea for a feature for a while now. It's a black comedy I suppose, with horror elements. I think it'd be similar in style to Beetlejuice, in terms of dealing with the afterlife with a comedic tone. I've been thinking of a McGuffin and think I could make it work.
Would this be suitable for this 7WC? It's not a horror as such and wouldn't be a thriller. So does that disqualify it from this particular challenge. Really want to write this one so may just crack on with it anyway.

To me, if that's what you want to write then do so.

I think if you write a comedy, it would not fit the criteria for this 7WC since it was " Thriller, Horror, Action, Sci-fi (any of these or combination of them)".
However, no one can stop you from writing whatever you want. You can also write whatever you want any time. Also, some people who try hard to write within the parameters given, might frown upon a script that did not follow the challenge and might not want to read it. If it's obviously a straight comedy, Don might not upload it with the rest of the scripts. Like I said though, you can upload it as a regular feature in the comedy section. My take...

It's most definitely not a straight comedy and will have some very dark moments. The subject matter is actually quite bleak, hence why I want to lighten it up with some pretty dark comedy. It has a female lead, horror elements and a McGuffin. Would that be ok? Don't want to annoy people, thinking I didn't follow the guidelines..
Just realised that mines going to be a little more expensive to film that I first thought, it's the way the script has developed.
I started off with the idea of containing it in a manor house hotel, calling it a clinic and basing most of the story around there.
It's now globe trotting like a James Bond film.
Anyway, I won't go over board and I'm sure a producer could keep it contained with stock footage and imagination. I saw a 'making of' documentary of the filmed 'screwed' which is part set in Iraq, which they somehow managed to film in a British seaside resort!! Just goes to show.
Best I write the script that's coming to me and worry about the resources later.

I'm 6 pages in. So might send you them on in a bit if you wanna send me on what you got..
Well I'm 51 pages in, lol. I meant at the end. TBH, I'd find it difficult to fully put my mind into your story while I am writing this. Once you're done though, I will read it.
Okay, now I have a talking car in mine... at least I did have until celtx crashed on me and I lost the lot. Is this a sign? Is talking car okay or not okay.
