A few weeks back, I asked Don to take the script, Pugumentary, down from the boards. I did this so the script wouldn't be seen by the "wrong people" until after its premiere. Said premiere will happen on March 14th at the Downing Film Center in Newburgh, NY. Interest in "Pug" is growing to the point that a second showing has been arranged (and tickets are selling). Proceeds from the showings will benefit the Pugweiser Fund, a charity that raises money to fight Pug Dog Encephalitis (a real disease, swear to God). Additional screenings in New York City and northern New Jersey are being planned. After the premiere, I will ask Don to put the original "Pug" script up as well as the shooting script (with additional characters and scenes). So, for everyone who has commented on "Pug" when it first appeared on SS, I thank you. Pug's director, Rick Bak, is still in talks with the BBC. Hopefully, it'll be on the air this summer. Phil |

Phil,
Congrats on getting this filmed. While I won't be able to make the screening, I'm sure a bunch of us will be there in spirit.

There was actually a Panorama documentary on BBC One towards the end of last year called Pedigree Dogs Exposed that dealt with pedigree dogs and the diseases they had developed: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pedigree_Dogs_Exposed. It caused a bit of a stir here, even led to the BBC cancelling some long running contracts they had. I haven't had the chance to read Pugumentary, so I may be completely off-base drawing a comparison, but I'm just saying I think it's something people over here would be interested in, off the back of that documentary. I hope to get to see it! Jon |

Wow this short has been sitting in limbo forever. Look forward to seeing it one day. The trailer really grabbed my attention and I need closure in finding out the fate of the several dozen pugs stranded in the house after their owner past away. (that was the gist of it wasn't it?) |

The story is about Mister Sloan and his 22 pugs. And, yes, it's been in limbo for a long time. This is mostly due to the BBC wanting an extra eleven minutes of footage.

Without a script, I don't think so. If people were to google Pugumentary, they won't get much from here.

No such thing as bad publicity.
I always thought this one was amongst your best, Phil. Top 3, at least.
Look forward to this finally seeing the light of day.

Don't get me started on the DiD&M guys! That's been in post-production limbo for three and a half years, not that I have any xpectations for it anymore. If I knew how to write music, I would've turned it into a full length musical script a long time ago.

Excellent Phil. Years ago we had a Pug dog that would come and stay with us for a few weeks at a time. He'd just come walking up the street, stay for awhile, then wander off. He was so sweet. |

I'm confused, Phil. Are they pitching this as a true story?
Is it a true story -- to a point?
I seem to recall this discussion before, but forget the details. |
