Just out of interest, who's your fav stand-up comedian?

Gotta be Michael Mcintyre for me.

Louis CK.

His bit about the most notorious words that you can't say,  "n*****", "c***" and "f*****", is absolutely hilarious.

I also like Patton Oswalt and David Cross.

Lisa Lampenelli always make me laugh:

I also really like the old Eddie Murphy stuff:

Down in the hole / Jesus tries to crack a smile / Beneath another shovel load

It always amazes me how she can go from looking like such a sweetheart who's all smiles to her on-stage persona.  It's crazy.

For me I like a good laugh at Lee Evans, Bill Bailey, Frank Skinner, Ricky Gervais and Dylan Moran to name a few.

Ralphie May, Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock, Bob Saget, Dice, Brian Posehn, Gilbert Gottfried, Dave Attell, Robert Schimmel and many more.

Ricky Gervais as a stand up is not as funny as when he's acting.

That's the thing that annoys me about Ricky Gervais. His stand-up and his acting are the same! His stand-up routines are, obviously, Ricky Gervais. But he doesn't play David Brent in The Office- he plays Ricky Gervais! And then he went and made Extras, where he played Ricky Gervais! Then her got offered a part in Stardust, and he took that part and made it Ricky Gervais in a stupid hat! Then Night At The Museum came along. No prizes for guessing what he did with that role.

Man, that Louis CK is a blast! I'd heard about the swear words one but i liked the first clip, about progress and being on a plane.
King of Queens is one of my favorite comedies and PO is always good in that. It was funny to hear him swearing though.

Here we go again! THAT argument. Well I do agree that he did use his own body to play each of those parts... if that's what you are refferring to! They were all quite different parts. The fact there were similarities is because that's what Gervais is good at. That TYPE of character. So many actors play the same in every movie. Ben Stiller, Jack Black, Vince Vaughn, the list goes on and on. And it happens because the roles they play, they are awesome at.

It doesn't worry me, and I know what to expect when I get a movie involving them. So I'm not disagreeing with you, because to a large extent it's true, but I don't think it should "annoy" you, as it happens more in the film world than you might think.

RE. OP... Gervais, Eddie Murphy, Tim Minchin (half stand up), Dylan Moran.

Billy Connolly shits me to tears. He can say anything and make any weird noises because he has an accent. Terrible.
