But Memento is also up there.

Seven definitely does not count, as the bad guy did not get away, but he didn't plan on getting away either.

But, my favorite is easily Fade to White.     Touche...

These two the good guys don't get away it. But hey, it works!
And not only did I come up with one, it's a double feature.

As in, both these films were a drive in double feature from Fox!

Not really a conventional bad guy, but the ending of Syriana deserves a mention for its villain succeeding – especially strong when you consider its context.

Also one of the finest films made in the last 20 plus years, IMO.

Noah Cross gets shot in the shoulder/arm, hence the shrug off.
He makes such a small deal about it, you can blink and miss it.
Which I like, since he's so obsessed with the female in question.

The quote on my sig is one of my favourite lines from a near perfect script. Its all about his delivery complete with toothy, malevolent smile when forced to repeat the line in order to get his imperative across. A really effective, unsettling moment as Jake realises he's dealing with a sinister, not-to-be-fu?ked-with individual.

The anti hero payroll robbers and the girl make a train sandwich.
Anti hero demises were big in film at this time in Hollywood.

I guess all this really belongs in "The Anti Hero doesn't Get Away with it" thread.
But those movies fulfill the spirit of "The Man" getting away with it, IMO.

"Bonnie & Clyde" would fit into that category too.
"Butch Cassidy & Sundance Kid" has to be in there as well.

I guess I'm drawn to the anti hero getting nailed for bucking the system.

Natural Born Killers- I can see what it is trying to represent, with the media frenzy and all but I just simply didn't like it.

Match Point, the Woody Allen film. Jonathan Rhys-Meyers gets away scott-free in that...apart from still bring trapped in his stultifying marriage.

The T-Rex got away but in the process ruined the credibility of that film.  The book Jurassic Park is incredibly better than the film.

Henry The Portrait of a Serial Killer.

The wicker man - 1973 - Brit horror, although hardly counts as horror by modern standards.

Haven't yet been able to watch it all, the demands of family, but I've seen the final scene and understand the outcome.

Had a completely unexpected scene of a naked Brit eckland - now that was a highlight, worth watching alone.

Interesting film so far. Has a decent story running through it, simple to understand yet complicated underneath. A good sense of foreboding.
