Thanks, everyone.

My sister is driving 7+ hours from St. Louis to make sure everything is handled properly, as my Dad, at 91, isn't doing the best job of this.  Details to follow.

I appreciate the support.

Well, my Mom is still fighting.

Today is her 3rd round of Dialysis and my sis says she seems to be getting through it alright.

These are tough times indeed for me, but I remain hopeful.

I appreciate all your prayers.

My nan (87) went through something similar recently, she was in hospital for almost 3 months before being moved to a nursing home. Aside from needing daily care (she's almost blind, partly deaf and can't walk very far) she's fine. In great mental health.

She gets family visits every day. My turn Wednesday. That's her choice, she likes us to come on separate days so we talk to her and not each other. I think that regular contact (from family or friends) is the most important thing.

Try to stay positive.

Sorry to hear this.

I hope the treatment continues to help and it settles down. I can relate to the elderly father who struggles with the situation. It can be a lot for anybody but age does throw a spanner in the works.

All the best

Jeff,

Best wishes to your Mom for a speedy recovery. I know it's not easy. Just checked my own Mom into a nursing home after a lengthy illness, and it is beyond words the range of emotions one has to go through in trying times like these. Stay strong and hope for the best, brother. All my best...

Well, the fight is over and my Mom passed into God's hands this morning at 12:45 PM CST.

She went peacefully, and we are all alright with this, as she was done with the fight.

My girlfriend, Teri, and I were able to "talk" with her her last night about 9:00 PM MST, and it was the first time she was somewhat "awake" in the last 11 days.  Teri told her to breathe out loud if she heard us, and she did, multiple times.  She also whispered my name twice, which were the first words she spoke since she's been in ICU.  The nurse said she was amazed at how much my Mom responded to our words.  It meant the world to me, as I needed that.

Last night, as I slept, she came to me in a dream, and I honestly know she knew I was OK, my sister was OK, and my Dad was going to be OK.

Rest in Peace, Mom.  I love you now and will love you forever!!!

Jeff,

My deepest sympathy. I'm sure your
Mom was a great woman. A great fighter. Death isn't easy, as I'm sure you'll be crazy busy making arrangements and the like. Stay strong, bro. And cherish this time in your life as it all goes down in your Life Story -- albeit a very sad chapter. Love and condolences,

Steve

Belated condolences bro. Have just got home today from visiting my folks and it was sad saying goodbye to them this morn and seeing my young son hug them.

That is unreal that your mom responded to your voice before you left you. Peace and love to you and your family, mate.

Thanks, everyone.  Your words all mean alot to me.

Per my Mom's wishes, there is no funeral or services of any kind, which is why I'm in Nashville all week on business.

It's been tough trying to be professional on my meetings and not show my pain, but somehow, I've been able to.

So sorry for your loss Jeff. I must admit I had a tear in my eye when I read your update. It was so sad but at the same time I’m glad you got to say goodbye and had some sort of closure. The dream element was lovely.

Keep your chin up and keep on putting one foot in front of the other. People will keep on asking if you are OK. You’ll say yes even though you are screaming no inside, but one day this too shall pass and you’ll say yes and mean it.

-Mark

Yes, she did live a great life, and the cool thing is that she waited to go until after I got back on my feet with a new business opportunity.  While I was struggling last year, the one thing I asked God daily was to let me get back on my feet before anything happened to my parents, because they were very concerned with my situation.

Parents should never bury their children, and children should understand that at some point, they'll have to bury their parents.  It's the circle of life and there's nothing we can do about it.

Thanks again, everyone.  Your support means so much to me.

Jeff, you have a whole family here that cares for you bud.

It's hard, so damn fucking hard.  Lost my dad several years back.  But, it's true, each day is a tiny bit better...  and I do mean TINY...

My advice for you, grieve when you need to grieve.  Part of the process is following the process when you need to.  If you need to get up at 3am and cry, do so.

If you need to go and punch a punching bag, go ahead, pound away.  Just take out the midget

Whatever you need to do, go ahead.  If you need to have sex with 10000 women, by all means, go ahead, just wear lots of protection

Find the things in your life that you enjoy to do.  Keep yourself healthy emotionally and mentally.

It's a daily grind, believe me, but, you can do it.  We all believe in you and we all are thinking of you.

Dan
