Submissions are closed for the OWC.

There were 40 submissions.  I'm as shocked as you are.

If you submitted a script to the OWC, you should have received a curt notification that your script was received.

Next steps.

I will begin posting the scripts Sunday around noon eastern daylight time.

I'll post them in batches of 'n' (where 'n' is a number between 1 and 5). I will post them at 'x' hour intervals (where 'x' is a number between 6 and 13)

Except for a couple of names I didn't recognize off the bat, all submissions are from discussion board participants in good standing.  In other words, 95% of the submitters are known for actually reading and reviewing scripts.

Note: there were multiple submissions from different authors with the same title.  Currently, I am not differentiating between them.

Wrote a script and didn't get it in in time?  In a week or so, you can submit it through the regular submission process.

Where were you my good brother and sister when it was:

Apparently, I predicted correctly when I said a lot of people just weren't saying anything, or talking like they had nothing when they really did. 95% from regulars... There you go.

Zappa was a highly productive and prolific artist and he gained widespread critical acclaim. Many of his albums are considered essential in rock and jazz history, and he is regarded as one of the most original guitarists and composers of his time; he remains a major influence on musicians and composers.

He had some commercial success, particularly in Europe, and for most of his career was able to work as an independent artist. Zappa was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995 and received the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1997.

In short, one of the worlds greatest artist. In his life, he wrote, recorded and produced over 60 albums.

With that said, he is a very acquired taste.

Yeah, one of my favourite Zappa songs was "Why does it hurt when I pee?".

Bobby Brown, Pia way to go. That whole album was fantastic.

They have recently released some really good live stuff on DVD. DUB ROOM SPECIALS is fantastic as well as BABY SNAKES the movie.

Iactually got to see him in Chicago at the uptown theater in 1982. Fantastic show.

Jeff, Dinah Moe Hum off of overnight sensations. One of my all time favs, for sure.

The thread has taken a weird turn -- as they tend to do.

But still a good topic.  Here is one of my Zappa favorites for our neighbors to the north -- which includes a chilly Sandra, I'm sure.

This one involves, amongst other things, yellow snow.  Long, but pretty clever.  It's his own little "Abbey Road" style medley.

Hey, it's my tiny, little IMDb!

Bert,
My favorite album of all time by Frank.

He did so many great albums, but Damn, you can't deny he was at the top of his game on this album.

Of course, Shiek your booty, weasel ripped my flesh and zoot alures are all great as well.

But as satire goes, PUNKIES WHIPS  has to be the best. Terry Bosio, singing that on Baby snakes the movie was so wrong but quite possibly the funniest yet brilliant song I have evr heard from FZ.

Anyone know how to find that one.

Then there won't be any mystery left...

6 scripts, Pia?  C'mon, are you serious?  Maybe that's why we have 40 entries...you did 6, and I did 9!  Damn, that's almost 1/2 right there!

I'm always surprised that they never made a musical out of Joe's Garage.  There's an incredible story, and music, in that album.

Very good point Phil,

It plays out a complete story with some fantastic moments.

Frank, (in my opinion) loved to tickle a listener with just enough absurdity to weed out the novist, but wait....hold...... and WHAM he pays off the listener who holds on to see what is around the corner with a slice of brilliance.

I'm a brat. I never paid attention to anything that was important. Come to think of it, I never paid much mind to what was unimportant neither.

No signature. Not important.
