The other threads contain inaccurate or old information. Here is the newest and most up to date info and a plot summary. Afterlife will be set in a post-apocalyptic world overrun with mutant zombies. The film will play in the Nevada desert with the Aussie outback standing in for the American wasteland. In the final reel, the action will shift to Japan, setting up the fourth installment. Here is the article.

I do think they should quit after three though because since it is so hated and so many who haven't seen it hate it just because others do (Silly little Sheep) now the point of doing anymore is stupid because it will fail at the box office here in NA but do well in a foreign place because they appreciate effort I guess.

My prediction is a poor box-office return for Afterlife and a straight to video for the fourth installment.

Mike Epps Returns in 'Afterlife'- Refuses to Die!

During an interview over at BlackFilm, comedian Mike Epps confirmed that he will return in Resident Evil: Afterlife, "Yep, we're shooting in March and this time, they are going to let me be hard. I asked the director (Paul Anderson) 'Something's strange because why did you let me live? Black people die in these movies' and he was like, 'Well Mike, I kinda like you.' So then I asked him, 'Are you setting me up to die because if there's a fourth movie, I'm as good as dead."  "Afterlife" will be set in a post-apocalyptic world overrun with mutant zombies.

I have a feeling it'll be set in a mansion or they'll somehow come to a mansion to further go into the games. I hope they stop using Lickers or whatever you wanna call them because CGI monsters in a zombie movie are lame or not needed at all.

I enjoyed Mike Epps but I also think that his statement about dying is a stereotype for popular culture and nothing more.

How did the zombies overrun the world? Didn't it happen in only one spot?

Anderson's directing the third?  Fine.  Just, for the love of Christ, hand the type writer over to someone else!

I know, Resident Evil is my favourite game and Mortal Kombat was one of my other favourite games. The Mortal Kombat movie wasn't bad but what the hell was he thinking when he wrote Resident Evil! I do believe the second was an improvement from the first but I fear the third will be really bad... I don't even think Jill or Carlos will be returning in the script. I'll still go see it though.

Sienna Guillory is set to reprise her role from the last film as Jill Valentine. No word on Carlos.

The Resident Name has been soiled...

I hope that the movies will fail!  So then people will stop trying to make a good story theirs, why dont the people just let the writers for the games write the script, is it that hard to let a Japanese guy write a movie script and then translate it!?

Gosh!  I hate how stupid hollywood is sometimes.

I think that an interesting way of doing it was if they had kept Romero's script and had Anderson direct it.  It would have Romero's dialogue and subtle social touches and Anderson's slick direction.  That would have been an interesting movie.

They don't een need to get the writer of the game. They should of just followed the novels of Resident Evil, which are done really well. If they did that then it would of been a great movie.

The thing we as an audience fails to see is that if they copied, or if anyone copied a book or game word for word you'd have already seen it. What would be the point in seeing something exactly as you know it?

Like watching a rerun of your favorite show, sure it's good but you've now seen it a million times.

They know this, Lord of the Rings isn't even exactly like the books, they changed things, added things, cut a lot of things for a film because books are really not the same medium.

Maybe LOTR did so well because they love the material and Paul Anderson is just in it for the fun of it all and to get that big next project. Peter Jackson actually got his feet wet for like a full year to film his films and then edit them for like 3 more years.
