I'm actually kinda excited for all of the big dumb sci-fi flicks upcoming -- After Earth and Oblivion as well as this one -- but I gotta lay my money on this one as the best. I've seen every single Godzilla vs.; few things make me happier than seeing two big dumb-looking monsters slugging it out over a city. I'll be at opening night, drunk and yelling.
Normally I would dismiss a film like this instantly, but with Del Toro's named attached, I'm all in. I really hate myself for digging this trailer. To second Heretic's remarks, get a few brews in me and I'll have a blast. This appeals to anyone who's ever watched a Godzilla movie as a child...and rooted for the monster.
The new trailer definteily indicates they learned a thing or two from Transformers. When the mechs fly through stuff and tumble over cityscapes, it's pretty neat. And unlike the Bay films, I can tell what's happening.
So yay for that, at least. I hope the film's a hit. If not, I fear how many more projects they'll let Del Toro's pricey imagination helm.

LATEST NEWS CineVita Films is producing a short based on my new feature!
Further confirmation I'm well out of sync with the majority view on films! This looks awful to me. Rebrand it with Michael Bay rather than Guillermo del Toro and unleash the backlash! Tom Cruise dodged a bullet by staying out of this.
I have absolutely no idea how this one will turn out. I am a fan of Travis Beacham though. It generally goes one way of the other, but I loved Killing on Carnival Row. I haven't read the script for Pacific Rim, but I really hope it isn't a Clash of the Titans. Looks pretty cool, but no real substance.
I like the idea of Pacific Rim, but based on the previews I have seen...it looks BAD! I get that a movie like this is based on the action, but there needs to be some effort put into the plot and the acting.
When I see the Pacific Rim preview I think of the bad Godizilla movie that "Ferris Bueller" did. Speaking of which, why the heck did they NEVER do a Ferris Bueller's Day Off sequel? All the bad sequels we have had to endure and they couldn't at least attempt a sequel to Ferris Bueller? I loved the Super Bowl ad that had a quassi Ferris Bueller sequel.
Pacific Rim also reminds me of this animae called Dragon Ball (Z) that my younger brother use to make me watch. I hated the animae at first, but after years of him forcing me to watch it, I actually kind of got into it. Then years later, they made a Dragon Ball movie with real actors...OMG that was BAD! I think Pacific Rim might be just like that...so I am staying away. If it gets okay reviews, I MIGHT watch it on Netflicks whenever it gets there.

One of a very small group of people that actually saw Kevin Costner's "The Postman" in theaters, and I LOVED it!
Coopie baby - what is it with you? Did you invest in this film? So Aliens meets Godzilla meets Transformers. If they sent you this script, you'd chop it up in minutes ... Okay, they gave you associate producer, I never seen that. And they got to get $180million back off it? Okay they might do that too. But Del Torro stunk the sh1t-house with hellboy and I hope he's not coming back for turd number two with this baby. I rate him more as a producer than a director or writer.
... and please ... no more trailers ... it's out soon - we get it!!!
