The Black List is out and our own Matías Caruso (Mr. Z) is on the list!

CARNIVAL by Matias Caruso – 6
A deadly carnival knife-thrower hunts down the members of a powerful crime syndicate who murdered his sister.

Check out the  Variety article

Thanks Bre for the heads up.

This comes on the heels of: being the 2014 Page Awards Grand Prize Winner and Being signed to C.A.A. in September of this year.

Alas, Matías has yet to receive the coveted crappy mug...

Frankly typical.

Now, I'm off to play some Smiths and Radiohead songs in a darkened room while I punch a teddy bear.

Quoted from Don

Alas, Matías has yet to receive the coveted crappy mug...

Too funny!

Seriously though, as someone who's been around here for a very very long time, I'm so super excited to see so many SS member having successes these days. Breanne also announced last week that her feature Warning Shot will star Bruce Dern! Many members having scripts being produced, optioned and winning contests. I think this is all very exciting and proves, that big stuff can happen to anyone who works hard at it and Simply Scripts is THE best place to learn and grow and connect with filmmakers ON THE PLANET! And it's free!!!

Ditto to all Pia just said.

Congrats to Mathias!  And also to Breanne!

Btw, I don't have a mug either so I'm now going to view that as a portentous sign.

Love the responses from Bert and Ren.

Matias is a really great writer. Don't know him personally, as I think he was one of the Movie Poet crowd and most active here just before I joined, but I've read his work and he's so talented.

Great news - big, big things await! (Out of interest, how old is he? So I can convince myself I've still got plenty of time if I ever actually knuckle down.)

If you're reading this - congrats, Matias!

Yes, I remember reading it as well.  Great news.  But no one should be surprised.

I hope you and Breanne don't forget about us.

Thanks everyone. I don't want to hijack Matías's thread so I'll hold off on talking about my own project, but I appreciate the support.
