Goose has greenlighted the project

This is now the official thread for Midnight Moves III.
The basic connecting segments takes place in an attic, with small child pulling items out of a toy box that relate to each of the stories. The stories each take place in a small town of Midnight Moves.

I'm going at a slightly different approach to III then to I. Midnight Moves was written as cheesy b-movie shlock fest. I'm looking for tales that are full out assaults on the senses. They don't have to be cheesy for cheesy sake, they can be funny, scary or whatever fits the scene. The main goal is to scare people, disturb them, and then make them laugh. Write absurdist horror tinged with satire, rather then paroady.
And I'm looking for top-notch writing as well, developed characters, intriguing plots, and the whole lot. Most of all we want to captivate the readers, you know.
When the writers are choosen, I highly encourage that each keeps in contact with one-another, so that the stories tie in together, and the stories are works that everyone can be pleased with. Please no reclusive writers.

The stories can be anywhere from 15-30 pages, a 20 page script would be ideal, though.

A few ground rules for writers:

No porn.

Any subject is ok, as long as it's in the realm of horror.

No short written plainly to be "stupid" horror, corniness is only funny when it's unintentional.

Please be sure to collaberate and keep in contact with the other writers. This shouldn't just be, you write a short and then turn it in. We want to make sure everything fits together, you know.

And lastly, have fun, Midnight Moves rocked because people got into the segments, if you have an idea you want to roll with, then roll with it

Anyone is welcome to write a story for the anthology, but if the other writers or I don't think it's up to par, I reserve the right to exclude it from the final anthology. I'm are looking for quality work only. At the very least try to put in what you beleive to be your best work.

The Titles - you may adapt them as you please.

The linking segment that ties the stories is called: The Toy Box (idea by Bert)

1. Not Quite the Last House on the Left - by Andrew Romance

2. Welcome Back, Mother - by George Willson

3. Midnight - by Topher Rhives

4. The Eye - by Cindy L Keller (in talks)

5. The Donner Party Special - by James McClung

6. Untitled - by Bert Newcomer

For those who are interested please tell me and send a brief synopsis of the short. thanks.

To the writers:
Each author should have a rough outline of the other stories, so we can look for opportunities to tie them together amongst ourselves

The writers have been chosen. If anyone wants to contribute, talk to the writers to see if they're willing to collaberate with another writer on their story. I'm keeping it at six stories, seven at a push, but for now, six stories works.

So now I think we should use this thread to discuss our ideals and give imput and such on them:

Have you guys started yet? It would be kind of weird if Midnight Moves III came out before MM2 so if you're further along I'd hold back because I'm not even sure if Goose has everybody back (heretic being the last to sign on from what I'm told)

Yes, I'd like to know how much time, too. I'd like to be a part of this, but I've got a lot of personal things going on right now. So if I had a month or so, it would be good.

From what I've exchanged with Topher by PM, we really don't want to step on Goose's toes (or webbed feet, as the case may be).

You guys (Wes, etc.) are up first -- at least for a couple of weeks -- and to us Cindy, I think that means a couple of months.

And collaboration is encouraged between the authors.  Everybody has an outline for everybody else and can give them ideas and stuff.  This could be really fun.  Do it.

Hey, it's my tiny, little IMDb!

I've got an idea for my segment already but want to wait until Midnight Moves II is done (or until these other guys have started writing their segments) to start. I'd also like to do the One Week Challenge and, frankly, I'm not even sure if my idea is cheesy enough for this yet .

Well I've started but what i mean is Heretic at this moment is a no show, he's a busy beaver these days so I'm not sure what's going on.

My segment may not equal Molly Dolly in pure raunch but it will add action and a grande epic story ha-ha but seriously it will only take me/us a couple weeks to write and get them together. We, like you guys have to keep them short or else people will not invest time into reading and nobody wants to turn people off by posting a 200 page script... right?

Maybe what we all can do is if we have "uncut, unedited" drafts we like better that are longer is do what Lunchroom did and get Don to place those versions in a thread simply titled Midnight Moves.

You'll get more views just because it's George and bert, no offense to the originals including myself but 4/5ths of us aren't exactly here as much for whatever reason.

James, pm me your idea for what you have. I'd be welcomed to give input on it. For the writers involved I'd like a synopsis by April 2nd.

Perhaps it's a little early but I've been itching to write lately so I've started writing my script.

Alright, I'm setting the deadline for October 31st to release this little anthology.

By September everyone should have a draft of what they're writing. Well exchange it with another collaberator and then by October 1st should have the second drafts ready.
