I writing a script where a prisoner is interviewed by law enforcement.  Does anyone know the name of this room?  Right now, I'm just referring to it as an interview room, but that just doesn't sound right.

Yeah Phil, I think it's an interrogation room as well.

I was thinking interview room.  You really don't need to interrogate someone who's already been convicted, y'know?

Quoted from tomson

Yeah, but it's probably still done in the same room, unless they have a special "post interrogation" room.

Yeah, that's called the "ass-whipping" room.  No cameras in there.

But I do think it's an interrogation room by name. It just serves both purposes.

Like one of those rooms where the prisoner is separated by glass like in Half Baked? Or where they're sitting together with other prisoners around visiting their families like in Oz?

I watch a lot of tv, what can I say?

I'm thinking along the lines where the prisoner would have a one-on-one conversation with someone.  Like a lawyer, where privacy is desired.

Is it "like" a lawyer, or is it, in fact, a lawyer?

If you believe the rules of "movie world", these conversations often take place within the confines of a prison cell.

Phil,

This might not answer your question but here's a site with some useful links for researching this kind of thing:

The scene is actually for my sequel to The Burnout (if you folks haven't read it, read it now!).  In the scene I'm writing, Whitey (still with the FBI) visits Nick Schroeder in prison.

I'm not sure I understand what you said there, Helio, but I doubt I can download the blueprints to any prison.

You can't have plants in prison, not enough sunlight.

If Whitey is visiting Nick in prison, that sounds more like they would be sitting across from each other, separated by glass, and talking through telephone recievers.

This was a pretty quick a fun read. Format, story, characters, everything was great.

The only thing I found was that there was a typo at the end of page 2:

CARL (V.O.)
Each of my calls would documented. - Shouldn't there be a "be" in there?

Anyway, I don't have much time to review, but like I said, it was a great read!

Chris was referring to Suicide  , one of my short scripts.  Not sure why he posted a comment here.  Chris, can you post something for me on the Suicide thread?  Bump it up to the top of the list?

As Whitey is there on bureau business, these arrangements would be allowed.

The place Mike describes is called 'Visitation Area' in 'The life of David Gale' script.

In the script I'm working on, it would be a one-on-one talk, in private.  The big visitation room wouldn't be appropriate.

I'd say use either interview or interrogation room.  If I saw either one of those I would probably picture the same thing in my head anyway.  Is there anything special about the room that you're planning on describing, or is it just a table with a couple of chairs?

If you can promise a rabid monkey will leap from the closet, I'll be the first to read it.

The rabid monkey was in The Burnout.  And it was a clothes hamper.  Didn't you read it?

Actually, there was no rapid monkey.  Nor was there a hamper.  You should still read it, though.

A little off topic here, but not really...

How far along is Tower, anyway?

Is that still the title?

Just curious (and offering up a free chance for ya' to plug away haha).

I'm a little better than a third of the way through the script (first draft).

In this sequel, Whitey learns a little bit about what the Citizens had in mind for those from Project: Interface.  It's not just another opportunity for Whitey to kick ass.
