I'd be curious as to what white trash circus folk Zombie brings to this new one. How badly he and behemoth Michael butcher the series with their terrible "reimagining."
I don't see how they're butchering it considering how its a completely new franchise now, and Resurrection was a lot worse than the remake anyway. Plus, the fact that one of the old franchise's sequels ignored the previous ones completely is completely unforgiveable in my book. The series was butchered ever since Halloween: H20 was conceived IMO.
I do see your point though -- I'm sick of Zombie turning everything he touches into white-trash. His idea of an "origin" Halloween movie was a good one, but the execution of it was terrible.
I've always been a fan of his music, but quite frankly, his work on films has disappointed me everytime.
The Devil's Rejects was rather good, and his typical white-trash element worked to good effect in that one considering the nature of the film, but House of 1000 Corpses was pretty much unsalvageable, and Halloween should've been given to someone else. And even Rejects had an amateur-ish feel to it, which is sad since I think it is the best film he's ever gonna make.
Plus, the fact that one of the old franchise's sequels ignored the previous ones completely is completely unforgiveable in my book.
You're right - more of them should have ignored the previous ones. H3 was pure genius. I would have loved it if each of them were as orginal a Halloween story as that one.
