As an idea. Mum goes into the children and sees a mees on the floor and two nervous children

                  MOLLY
          Who did this?

DAVID says “She did it” and at the same time CLARE says “He did it”

For that, you can use Dual Dialogue. All good screenwriting software will give you the option for it.

It formats the dialogue next to each other in the script.

Okay. I had a look on the internet both characters are placed side by side with the lines placed where they speak together. I have used MS Word up to now and it has worked perfectly. This might be a difficult one for word. I’ll have a word with Bill Gates later on.

Just had feed back from Bill and (the MS team) and they have come up with a brilliant way of doing all this.

That's great, however I still don't get why you wouldn't use one of the many free screenwriting programs that would automatically take care of dual dialogue as well as every other format problem you're likely to encounter with Word.

I love and use Trelby, but I checked, and it has no option for dual dialog.    I've used dual dialog in the past, and it must have been when I was using CeltX.

I did an edit of my previous post, but that would just get lost, so I replied:

EDIT: I found an article that gave this option and I like it.

                (at the same time)
          But you said that I - / I totally
          meant you could -

Both collapse in riotous laughter.
