Wow... or should I say dang!  This is a nice story. It's easy to read and engrossing with a heartwarming ending.

The story hits the ground running with dark humor. Starting off with a tragedy or a humorous situation is a great way to pull people into a story. You do both.

Not much else to comment on. There were no typos that stood out to me. I can't think of anything that could make this better. It's fine as it is as far as I'm concerned. I like the way you integrated your perfect title.
