Nice one. Everyone is saying don't write pandemic scripts or scripts inspired by this pandemic but that's just silly. I've started outlining one 'inspired' by these events but not mimicking them. It's too early in development for this opportunity though.

Good luck to any who have a go.

I tend to agree with not writing pandemic scripts... there were a bunch of speculative ones out in the market already, and now you're going to compete with the hundreds of thousands of others, most of which are going to be written by pros and sold quickly as pitches or treatments to the major players...

I think there is a market though for things that CAN be filmed DURING a pandemic. All production is shut down right now... but if you could film a complete story while the actors and crew perform social distancing? You've got a winner. Because there is no new content to buy right now.

^ I agree.

Oh God, I just put myself through watching an apocalyptic Short made back in 2018, but eerily reminiscent of the current times. I wish I hadn't.

I could think of nothing worse than watching a bunch of these pandemic/isolation movies when the real thing is happening around us. Comedies... maybe. Seen a few skits lately that are entertaining but they're getting old fast. Jmho, of course. Some people have an unending appetite for doom and gloom. I prefer my horror to be purely fictional.
