What are you looking forward to the most? Here's my (short) list.

Friday the 13th- This looks like it will be the best remake yet. Then again, so did Halloween... I have faith in Marcus Nispel. He did a great job with the TCM remake and Pathfinder was great eye candy.

My Bloody Valentine 3D- The original is my favorite non-franchise slasher film. The remake looks like it'll a bloody fun time.

Defiance- This looks really intense and epic. I'm really looking forward to this.

Wolverine- This just looks awesome. Wolverine was always my favorite X-men, so having a moving based entirely on him is fine by me.

F13 and Inglorious Basterds I'm looking forward to, but the big one has gotta be James Cameron's Avatar. Everything I've heard about it makes it sound so amazing.

Star Trek looks quite fun, I've been waiting AGES for Watchmen so hopefully that'll be released at some point...I'm looking forward to This Side of the Truth, out in March, because Ricky Gervais co-wrote, co-directed and stars in it (big fan). Joe Wright's The Soloist, Bruno (Sacha Baron Cohen)...I'll probably end up going to see Terminator Salvation and the new Harry Potter, too. Oh, and there's the first traditionally-animated Disney film for ages - The Princess and the Frog - coming out late in '09. As people have already mentioned, the big ones will be Public Enemies, Inglorious Bastards, and Avatar.

Living in England there are loads of films you've all seen that I'm still waiting for! For instance, The Wrestler's not out here till January 16th. Benjamin Button's not out till FEBRUARY. It's so frustrating!

Guess who's back? Back again?

I'll be looking forward to the rumored "Arrested Development movie" (Michael Cera is holding out), Spike Jonze's adaptation of "Where the Wild Things Are" and Richard Kelly's "The Box."

Have heard a lot of hype on Watchmen and Avatar as well and can't wait to find out if either of those deliver.

Isle 10- A series I'm currently writing with my friend Adam and it will go into production soon. Think The Office meets 10 Items or Less.

TOP:

1) Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince - David Yates proved to be an very talented director with the last Harry Potter film, which frankly is the only HP film to ever emotionally move me. I don’t care what anyone says, this is a fantastic series.

2) Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen - Loved the last one! Sure, it wasn’t the smartest film ever to grace the screen and it was really more style over substance…but sometimes we need a little dumb escapism.

3) Up - Wall-E was amazing as are all of Pixar’s films, and I have no doubt that this one will end up on my top ten list of 2009 by the end.

4) Sherlock Holmes - Honestly, Robert Downey Jr. starring this film is basically why I’m looking forward to it. I’ve never read or seen anything to do with Sherlock Holmes before, but I think this has a lot of potential and I think it’ll end up being great.

5) The Lovely Bones - Peter Jackson can do no wrong in my eyes. I think it’ll be interesting to see him doing something other than a big sprawling epic. The only thing that ticks me off is that this is smaller than both of his most recent films and yet it’s taking him longer to get it into theaters than either of them!

6) Star Trek - Wasn’t a fan of the television show at all. In fact, if I’m being really honest with you I utterly loathed watching that sh ow. However, the footage I’ve seen from this looks great.

7) The Princess and the Frog - Until Toy Story came along, my childhood movie memories were made up of Aladdin and The Lion King. Since then, there hasn’t really been a 2D film that has captured my imagination like those. Hopefully this return of hand animated films will live up to my expectations.

Watchmen - The trailer for this looks interesting. I’ve never read the graphic novel, but I did see 300, and even though I found that to be a little boring, I can’t help but want to see this.

9) G. I. Joe - I think this’ll be interesting. I’m still a little unsure about whether or not it’ll be any good based on the man directing it and some of the early photos that have been released. Hopefully we’ll see a trailer soon.

10) Inkheart - What can I say? I’m a fantasy nerd, and other than Harry Potter 6, this is the only other live action fantasy film that really looks like something that I’ll dig. It being released in January has me worried, but I guess we’ll know if those worries become realities in the next couple of weeks when I review it.

BOTTOM 10:

1) Dragonball Evolution - I always knew a live action Dragonball film would have drawbacks, and to be honest, I’m not some hardcore fan of the show. I don’t care if a certain actor plays a certain character or whatever. But this just20looks absolutely terrible. From the lame addition of “Evolution” to the title, to the straight-to-DVD action scenes. Also, I hate how they set this film in present time. Argg…I’m angry just thinking about this film.,

2) Hotel for Dogs - Usually I can tolerate this type of film. I’ve enjoyed films like “The Game Plan” in the past, but this just looked terrible. Not to mention the kids they cast in this film are some of the most annoying looking children I’ve ever seen on screen. I have anger management problems, so I’ll probably stay clear of this or I’ll end up wanting to punch one of them in the head.

3) Final Destination: Death Trip 3D - Hated the other FD films, and “Death Trip 3D” doesn’t exactly spark confidence in me.

4) Underworld: Rise of the Lycans - Looks like utter crap that belongs on the Sci-Fi channel.

5) Friday the 13th - There are films that need to be remade. Peter Jackson’s King Kong is a perfect example of a film that can be effectively reintroduced to a new generation. But these stupid horror remakes just make tick me off. They’re so lame, and from the footage I’ve seen from this, I’m not exactly encouraged to change my opinion.

6) Hannah Montana: The Movie - Some might think this belongs at the top of this list, but the way I look at it is this never had any potential of me liking it. It is what it is. Just like High School Musical. The only reason I put this up here is because I personally have a strong distaste for Miley Cyrus.

7) The Pink Panther 2 - I hated the first one and generally just hate this style of comedy. Very lame.

Race to Witch Mountain - I was interested in this film, but after seeing the trailer, I’d rather it be unmade.

9) X-Men Origins: Wolverine - A lot of people are going to be extremely mad about this (specifically Mac himself) but the trailer for this film left a bad taste in my mouth and I’m just not looking forward to it. I wasn’t ever a fan of the X-Men film and actually found all of them to be very boring. This doesn’t look any different.

10) 2012 - Secretly I’m actually looking forward to this film. The trailer for it was amazing. However, based on the fact that Roland Emmerich’s last film that I was looking forward to (10,000 B.C.) was a complete let down, I know getting excited about this will just bring disappointment. So I figure if I don’t look forward to it, I’ll end up being surprised by how good it is!

I was actually a little bit sick in my mouth when I heard of this film's imminent release.

Films I'm looking forward to seeing in 2009 (bearing in mind some, if not most of these films are already released in the US - the UK sucks haha):

- The Wrestler; hell, I love anything with Darren Aronofsky's name on it.
- Role Models; I'm a real fan of Paul Rudd, hopefully this film doesn't let me down.
- I Love You, Man; Hell, what can I say? Big fan of Jason Segal, and Paul Rudd. Should be amusing.
- Slumdog Millionairre- Love Danny Boyle.
- Arrested Development; Let's hope Michael Cera reconsiders this, and actually starts in it.
- The Watchmen- Loved the comic, have real high expectations for this.
- Black Dynamite- Looks very amusing, a real throwback to the sixties.

Hmmm... I know there are others, but I can't think right now. I shall come back, an post some more when I can remember.

AVATAR

Let's hope Cameron is on the money with 3D technology cause I'm sick of hearing him talking it up.  Bit like Lucas with digital a few years back.

1)Inglorious Basterds- Quentin Tarantino has never let me down once.

2)Avatar- A guaranteed mind-fuck of epic proportions.

3)Public Enemies- Michael Mann+Johnny Depp+Christian Bale=Awesome Movie

4)Star Trek- I'm a geek and therefore obligated to see this.

5)Terminator Salvation- The trailer made me a believer and I actually liked Charlie's Angels.

Though earth and man are gone, I thought the cube would last forever.
I WAS WRONG.
