This is a small, low budget British film which may be difficult for the US based folks to find.
However, as scriptwriters and film fans, I would urge you to watch it. It's a great example of writing an interesting story that works on different levels that could be done quite easily. It has only two characters in the whole film and is set entirely in one location, with the exception of a couple of flashbacks to a generic wooded location.
It's superbly written and acted well, particularly by Alex Mcqueen as the bird watcher.
It'sa not a BIG film and I doubt it will attract a wide audience, but it's a thriller and is an accessible film to audiences, plus it deals with the type of characters that many people on the board like to write about.
It's based on a play by Tim Whitnall called "The Sociable Plover" and has been, understandably, renamed. I actually think it would make an interesting script club as well, one where people could look at how to turn plays into cinema.
Try and catch it if you can. I think it's a film that writers would particularly appreciate.
You got my intrigued at Bird watcher. A movie about a person who watches birds? That's just crazy.
There's a track through forest near my home that my wife and I walk for our daily exercise and every now and then you pass a few bird watchers getting all excited when they spot a bird. It's insane and very funny.
Unfortunatly I don't like my chances of ever seeing this movie (in Australia). Not even Utorrent or Youtube has it. Even If it gets a DVD release on Amazon it would cost a fortune for me to buy it.
