Welcome to the June 72-Hour Challenge! Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to write a 1-3 page script about a character who is physically stuck/trapped and must attempt to find a way to free themselves.
Genre: Open. Go nuts and write something wild!
Budget: The lower, the better.
No pistakes. One script per writer, though I'm not opposed to writers teaming up.
This isn't a contest - it's a challenge. There are no official prizes.
You can revise your script as many times as you wish up until the deadline.
Do not put your real name(s) on your script; this is an anonymous challenge. However, please use your real name(s) when submitting your script.
After the challenge closes you can either have your script removed or resubmit your script with your name on it.
(Don's rule) Participants must read and comment/review in the discussion board at least 10 other scripts submitted or your work will be removed (no harm, no foul. I understand that life gets in the way).
So when I think of physically stuck/trapped I think of narrow or confined spaces, but I suppose the person could be in an more open area but are prevented from leaving the area by a person, animal or object, right?

Either, or. Get weird with it. Have fun! I want to read some crazy stories!

Is shoving your junk into a hole in the wall and not being able to get it out fit the ‘crazy’ or ‘weird’ theme? Not sure I really wanna go the horror route this time around.
Title: Gory Hole
Of course, that’s inspired by the ultimate ‘trapped in a confined space’ scene of all time…

Great question! There can be multiple characters, but the character who is stuck/trapped can't receive any physical assistance from another character. Make sense?
Ideas, ideas... That go beyond head stuck in a railing, and elevators. Not that there's anything wrong with those, if they're good.
Gary's suggestion opens it up too - hadn't thought of that.
Hmm...
P.S. There can be multiple characters, but the character who is stuck/trapped can't receive any physical assistance from another character. Make sense?
You gonna write a *edit* about a *edit* stuck underneath his *edit*?
Careful, Zack! That's actually a really good one.
I once started throwing out joke script ideas before a challenge and I burned someone's actual idea. I won't do that again.
And, dammit! The more I think about it, I wanna write the *edit* thing!

Ah yes. The Weiner Mobile. I had forgotten the specifics. I still feel bad about it. My carelessness cost the world a Weiner Mobile script. And if there’s one thing this world needs more of…
Anyway. Once again, I’m sorry!

I don't think I can come out and play. 10 hours straight of moving so far and not done yet, and my Father's Day has been truncated to morning and brunch and then it's back to moving. Even if I squeeze an hour out late tomorrow I'm probably going to be too brain dead to do anything justice.
And yes Libby, I read further down the chain of comments and decided that one of Zack's clarifications gave me a pass, now submitted... and now off to eat too much Cuban Tapas and drink too much Pacifico!
Not going to make this one I'm afraid. I haven't been able to think of an idea I like enough to write and I've a very busy day ahead of me at work in a few hours. Best of luck everyone. If work permits I will try to read some of the entries.

Sorry to hear you won't make it in, but there's always the next challenge! And, who knows? Maybe inspiration will strike you yet.

Happy to hear you've got a horse in the race. Looking forward to it.
With father's day and having the kids in town, I wasn't able to focus on a story or the actual writing, and I'm completely overwhelmed with work, but I wrote a quick first draft and submitted it. I apologize to everyone in advance since it sucks even worse than the last thing I submitted, which was universally hated and should have had me permanently banned from this site. We'll see if this script will seal the deal.

OMG, I feel horrible in that I'm forced to bag out on this challenge as well. The idea I had just couldn't be crammed into 3 pages and, well, life happened over the weekend that took my time and presence.
I will be reading, though. Good luck to all that enter.

Ugh. Life sucks. But I get it. Maybe finish your script and submit it after the challenge?
Just a quick heads up for the writers involved in this challenge... You've got until Midnight on Friday to get your votes in. Should be more than enough time.
Shit just realised that we now cannot fulfil Don's rule*!
Are we all disqualified?

I had two started and then life got in the way, in a big way, to thwart any possible completion. Just so you don't think it's a case of: the dog ate my homework.
Terrific challenge, Zack! I will be reading and reviewing a bit later and am looking forward to seeing what you all came up with.

No need for anyone to apologize. I think it's awesome that nine different writers decided to take up my challenge. Gonna dive into the scripts today. Shouldn't take long to get through this bunch.
Read and voted, easy-peasy this time around, which was kind of refreshing (in total something like 24 pages to read).
A few ‘Fly in a Jar’ scenario scripts here that I didn’t even consider when trying to come up with an idea, feeling trapped but not really, just something the mind likes to do every now and again to ensure you know the Matrix is in full control and you’re just a player. Even a full-grown Circus Elephant staked to a little chain could easily get free by simply walking away, they’re just so used to it… they don’t even try.
I see we got till Friday midnight to work through these, but perhaps we could take a vote about, err… the voting deadline being a little closer, that being; if Don receives all votes before Friday, they could get posted sooner? That’s just me thinking out loud though, I don’t really wanna throw a wrench into the machine if it’s running just fine the way it is.

Forgot to mention I’m not voting. I don’t feel I’m worthy enough. Lol.
Just wanted to read and contribute. Trying to see if I can get back to the hang of things.
