Does the entire script have to be set on October 31st, or can it just be the invasion part on that day?

I think you're being a little to literal with the theme.  You can have it take place in the Halloween season.  The decorations are up on people's houses; the stores have been selling them for some time now.  And pretty soon, before you know it, Santa will be here--wait a sec.

Cool, so the October 31st part isn't that important aslong as it is the halloween season. I was thinking it had to be set on halloween, parties etc.

It is October 31st and a community is being invaded, however everyone thinks it's a hoax.  Two kids know the real truth...

Cheers Don

It was just that I was wanting the first scene to be a few days before the actual invasion. Have to have a rethink.

I came up with an idea then reread the theme and topic to make sure it fit. I started thinking of the show Goosebumps that used to come on Fox. Then I remembered Are You Afraid of the Dark? that came on Nickelodeon. I used to love those shows but I don't want to water down my story so i'm going to be aiming at the 17yo audience (who are allowed to see R-rated movies btw hahahahahahahahahahaahha)

Young Adult Horror - the age range is pretty broad "marketed to adolescents, roughly between the ages of 12 and 18."  If it is geared to 17 year olds, then I wouldn't consider it Young Adult.

I've kicked one back due to excessive use of the "F bomb".  The theme/plot of the script can be edgy, but excessive f bombs would not make it YA.

I have some ideas for this.

It probably won't be my best work, but I'm just doing it for fun.

I was going to submit a feature, but I saw submissions were closed cuz of the challenge. lol

I doubt this will be anyone's best work. The fun is challenging yourself to DO your best under a small amount of time. Ofcourse with more than a week it'd be amazing..but a week worth of writing something completely new is just a fun way to keep you on your toes.

With all this MP practice, I'm not sure I can make it past five pages!!

Got to retrain myself.

Just string together two and a half Movie Poet scripts and you're golden...

Question. I'm playing with how to use the theme of there being an invasion. Could I have it impemented on page 5 or 6? Is that still okay?

Like heres a normal halloween, then BANG. Invasion time. Is that okay?

Sooo... can we enter more than one?

Rule number 16 of the one week challenge states that you cannot enter more than eight scripts in a single OWC.

We call this the Helio rule.

I have no idea what impemented means.  Do you mean implemented? Regardless.  October 31st.  Invasion.  Everyone - two kids = hoax.  Two kids - know not hoax.  Halloween is optional...

If the question is "Does everything have to happen on October 31st?"  The answer is 'no' as long as the following is covered October 31st, a community is being invaded, everyone (except two kids) thinks it's a hoax, two kids know the real truth...

I was the first to submit two scripts for an OWC!

Oh, nevermind.  I'm already known for the "Shelton Syndrome"

Don, we're writers.  Math is NOT our strong point.  Except for Bert.  I think he makes bombs and stuff.
