Look, I love the original film. One of my favorite slashers. But the sequels suck. This trailer doesn't inspire much confidence in me, and I HATE the title! Why not just call it Scream 5!?

Still, I really like the director's last movie, Ready or Not. So I'm going to go into this one with an open mind. But I swear, if the original 3 characters(Sidney, Gale, and Dewey) all make it out alive yet again, I'll freak the fuck out. Lol

What do you guys think? Anyone looking forward to this?

This looks like a fun...remake? Re-imagining? Similar to what they did with Halloween (201?

Either way, it looks entertaining. I'd give it a watch.

Also, Courtney Cox looks like Blade from The Puppet Master.

I'm still trying to work out why it's not Scream 5?

I think it's kinda pointless making Scream movies when they're like...the only slasher movies in theatres, haha.

That said, I went to Scream 4, I may as well go to this one. One good thing about the Scream franchise is they're pretty fun even when they're bad.

Very odd coincidence -- right now, as I was typing the last message, I've got the movie He Knows You're Alone (1980) playing in the background.

The opening sequence of this movie seems to have been a very obvious basis for the movie theatre murders in Scream 2?

Loved the original, and I'm quietly optimistic this will be good.

Anyone see it? Didn't blow me away but I thought it was solid fun. Delivered on the stabbing.

Not seen it yet, Chris.
Not sure if I will.

Scream movies always annoyed me a bit, except for the classic opening scenes which I loved, ala Drew Barrymore's etc.

Yep, they always did the stabbing bit very realistically.

So tell me, is the opening scene good?

I really enjoyed the new Scream, some of the sass and wit has come back.

The old and new cast are good, the kills decent and some of the meta references and callbacks are designed for true horror fans, not the causal Blumhouse brigade.

It's a lot better than we had any right to expect.

Imho of course... other opinions are available
