Just thought I'd let everybody know that this morning at 10:12 am, my wife gave birth to a healthy 9lb 6 oz, 21 1/2 in long baby...BOY.

That's right, turns out that the doctor wasn't accurate in determining the baby's sex, and needless to say that Mom and I are now scrambling to come up with a name, which should be taken care of shortly.

Mom and baby are both doing well, and in the interim here's a few pics of "Baby Shelton", my new son.

Wow. How's that for a twist; you thought you were going to have a girl but instead you got a boy. Congratulations to you and your wife. Becoming a father will be the best thing that ever happened to you. Enjoy.

Now that all the mushy, mature and sincere comments are out of the way....

Hey, the baby's cute.  I guess ugliness skips a generation in your family.

Hey, the kid looks normal.  You must have an attractive milkman in your neighborhood.

The doctor thought it would be a girl?  Couldn't tell from the sonogram?  I guess small penises don't skip a generation in your family.

Thank you.  I'll be here all the week.

Nice one dogglebe, I'd join in too but my mother taught me that if I couldn't say anything nice I shouldn't say anything at all.

Thats why I didn't post anything on The Burnout.

Oh Mike,

You and Phil are too much!

Anyway, I would have loved to see your wife's face when she found out she had a son instead of a daughter. Was she happy? Shocked? Think she had someone elses baby?

My daughter wanted a girl so bad after having two boys. When I made it to the hospital my daughter had already had the baby. The first thing out of my mouth when I entered the room was, "Is it still a girl?"

The nurse laughed at me...

Your son is beautiful Mike, and I think you picked a nice name.

Hey Mike,
Don't know about the name, lol.
Initials would be PMS.
I hope this doesn't reflect on his personality.    also considering it was suppose to be a girl ( tagged for life)

This thread is sooo exciting, I just had to post again.  One of the best places to take little ones is to the library.  Sorry Patrick, I don't want to try and make you want to grow up too fast, but just wait 'till your first trip there:  And sometimes you can have pajama nights, and the parents bring goodies... and they even make forts!

Congratulations again on a beautiful healthy boy!
