Why does it have to be that way? Well, Joe Eszterhas said it best. "Hollywood is afraid of the screenwriter" by this I mean the "REAL" ones. The ones we don't hear about and the one's who's idea's get passed by a thousand times a day... I know a great deal of writers now who can write better material than what we're seeing in the movies, but what you and a lot of others might not see is this.
Even if you sold a script in hollywood and it got greenlit... Your version wouldn't be the one you seen. Well, 99.9% anyways. They hire their own staff writers to do multiple tweaks to the scripts because they feel they have better ideas than you do. By the way "THEY" are not writers and probably haven't read a page one of the scripts they are green lighting. "THEY" are producers who hire other writers.
So, why is the new remake of ANOES bad? Well... too many wannabe writers and not enough good ones making noise. Think about all the movies being released and then think about how many times you see the writers attached to them. The same people are making and writing movies in hollywood. A small group of people at that... There is no room for people with better ideas. Why? Cos' it'd put them out of work. We can't have that.
I can write a better script than what we're seeing. It's not an opinion, it's a fact. I know it and many people who know my entire catalog of work does too.
